When will the fatigue go away?

I have been on citalopram for five weeks. The first three weeks I was on 10mg, the last two weeks I've been on 20mg. On 10mg, I felt tired in the morning, but it got better throughout the day. This lasted for the first week, then I stopped experiencing fatigue. Since switching to 20mg, I've been feeling even worse fatigue that barely gets better throughout the day. When can I expect this fatigue to start improving? Has anyone had luck switching to taking citalopram in the evening? I'm currently taking it in the morning...

I've noticed that my sleep and appetite have improved, I just wish my energy would.

Thanks,

Daniel

I've been on it for 2 1/2 years and the fatigue never went away. It's the side effect that stuck. That and sweating.

I switched to taking it at 7pm. It takes about 2-3 hours to knock me out, lol. If I take it closer to bed I have weird dreams. If I take it in the morning it completely disrupts my entire day.

Can I ask what dose you are still on. I feel I am recovering on 30mg after 25 weeks now although still get a few side effects. I am really anxious about going down in dose now that I am feeling alot better as I was so bad since June last year with anxiety and depression and health anxiety

Roughly five weeks I was on 10mg then 20mg and then I saw a psychiatrist who upped it to 30mg. I only saw the psychiatrist once I add! and have been on 30 ever since.

Hi Daniel, I've been on citalopram for years and have always taken it on a night. I'm on two antidepressants and a mood stabilizer and I take them at 9pm and go to bed at 10.30. I get at least 8 hours sleep but still sometimes feel tired in the morning.
