hi people, as you saw in the title i just don't know what i now do? i have coeliac disease, i am vegetarian, i'm 46 and feel like i've been handed a death sentence food-wise. i now have had it confirmed that i have allergies to beans and pulses and soya. i am quite depressed by this. how on earth do i manage my limited crxx diet? i just can't now pick up any food and eat it. the jokes about meat and fish in my diet are wearing thin. i don't enjoy food any more, it's boring. please has anyone been told similar and how do you cope? i could cry.....

Hi Sam, are you veggie for health reasons or your against eating meat ?
So is your allergies you listed above allergies diagnosed by gp/hospital ?
Have you only just been diagnosed with coeliac disease ?
Are you living symptom free or have symptoms ?

hi xskyx, daft though people think it is, i am veggie due to ethical reasons, having not eaten meat since aged 15, my allergies were confirmed by the hospital last week and the diagnosis is through the hospital too. i was i had ibs originally so am suffering symptoms after this misdiagnosis too.i feel stuck. i hate food from loving it as a kid it has now become a nightmare.

Hi Sam, I had to cut out over 15.
I started with swapping foods so I had rice flour instead of wheat, goats milk instead of cows, I used water with my soups not stocks etc
I went to local restaurants when they were near to empty so i could ask to see allergies sheets & sit & read them, & have a chat with the staff.
Then when I went out on busy nights I knew what I could have.
A lot of chip shops etc offer gluten free days once a week or month.
I did make all my food from scratch & freeze it like rice flour pancakes, then when others had pancakes I did to.
They then actually started having my gluten free ones as they said they were nicer.
I did meal plans so food was there before I found my self panicking what I could eat.
All family & friends knew what I couldn't eat, so at gatherings I either took my own in a lunch box or they made me something I could eat.
I see a lot of people with allergies/intolerances hate food shopping but it's best to spend a while looking at different products available, and what ingredients they contain, so it becomes more enjoyable & easier.
I use to search for recipes on line & make time to try them out.
As your are true allergies & your vegetarian, you might find a qualified nutritionist helpful for some support

hi xskyx, it is so kind of you to respond back, that's really kind of you! i have come late to all this having discovered i now have all these problems with food which i am learning to cope with. the problem seems to be my family - they will not take the time to understand just how frightening this all is, everytime i speak to them it's a hassle. they think they know how to help but they cross contaminate they put gluten next to non gluten products, they think they know what i can and can't eat (despite the tests) and just show how little they know. it's made me cry, frightened, scared, worried. it's not so much the allergies but my family's reaction, i did to be well and now these recent tests are deemed stupid and pointless. my diet is unbalanced, deplete and bland and boring! i just give up, i feel so sad!
