I have been reading many posts and seeing referances to some things and i dont have a clue what they are such as pip? Sooo i was just wondering where in the world you all live. I live in a remote town in  Australia (yes the "Outback") smile which certainly has its hardships in regards to access to specialist treatments and testing such as MRI's. I hope everyone is Having a "good" day. I have been suffering terrible neck pain the last 2 weeks had a massage last night hoping that would help but No woke up this morning really sore still. does anyone else have painfull areas for weeks on end then all of a sudden it doesnt hurt anymore?

I live in the US but this is a UK website. I never heard of pip until I joined this site and believe it's a UK version of disability leave/disability social security just don't know what the exact anagram is.

    Hi Currychic

i live in the uk, and Manda is correct, PIP is a disability benefit here, as is ESA (which you might hear about from time to time) and yes I also get pains that last for weeks, seem to come from nowhere and then go away just as another appears 🙁 At the moment, well for the last six weeks, my shoulder, neck and chest on my right side are stiff and painful. It just appeared one morning and is making my life more difficult than usual. I use creams on it, nothing much helps though.

Where abouts in Australia are you, I lived for a short time in Sydney years ago.

Hi Boqer, I live in Nth west Qld. my soreness in that area come on a few weeks ago while after a strenous shift at work, do you get spasm/cramps that go from your shoudler to your collar bone area and up your neck when to move from sitting or laying down to standing and reaching down for things?

No I don't have the same pain as you, it sounds like you have strained something, a tendon maybe, have you had it looked at? Trouble with this fibro is it seems to make everything worse.

I finally got round to registering with a Dr this morning and I have an appointment this afternoon, which I'm really surprised at, but I'm not holding my breath, I'll just have to see how it goes. You never know what sort of Dr

      you're going to get.

Hi there ,, out in australia you wont have P I P or ESA,, you have your own enefits system  i think,, but what they are,,, P I P is personal independence payment which you are awarded if you have daily living disability,,, and ESA is earning support. You refer to painful areas for a few weeks then nothing, mines my neck,, hands and knees and top of arms,, as far as im aware massage doesnt solve Fibro ,, as there is no recognised cure,, WELL NOT IN ENGLAND anyway.

hope you feel better , BEST REGARDS JAYNE :-)

Hi currychic PIP stands for Personal Independence Payments, a benefit paid to people who have care or mobility issues. Hope that clears it up for you. I live in South West Wales, in a village in the very west of Wales! So specialist treatments means travel for me too, but not on your scale!

My pains travel around, some are on a regular basis whilst others come and go, but there is no pattern to them. Other symptoms such as brain fog and IBS, migraines, vertigo vary, but the one constant it seems is tinnitus.

HI PiliPala, yes i have constant tinnitus too.I never really put it down to fibro before but i guess its another thing to add to the growing list

      Hi Pilipa and Currychic,

yes I also have constant tinnitus, there was a discussion on here last summer about it and I was surprised at how many people who have fibro also have tinnitus

Tinnitus, vertigo are all part and parcel of Fibro so it seems!!
