Where's My Appetite?

I am still waiting for a diagnosis, but I was wondering if you guys could help until I get answers from a doctor.  Is it common to lose your appetite with MS? I know I should eat, but anytime I have to cook anything I lose interest and just don’t bother. When I do eat it does taste good, but I rarely ever want to. I get hungry for maybe one meal a day. But I am generally more tired than hungry and will easily go to sleep over eat. Is this normal, and if so how is it treated?

Yes, it is common to lose your appetite and the reason why MS sufferers loose weight.  The only thing that you can do, is to force yourself to eat and then you will find that in doing so, it will open up some of your appetite. I think that there is medication that may help with appetite, but I would not recommend going on them.  It is a natural thing to loose your appetite when you are ill.

Have you had blood tests, and if so, what where your vitamin D reading ?

I am deficient in Vitamin D. I’ve been tested on that a few times. Does that assist with appetite?

Yes it will, as vitamin D will help heal your body and stop MS attacks if that's what you have. I was on vitamin D 6000 IU's but I would recommend you go on vitamin D 2000 tice daily until you find out what your problem is.
