Which is a stronger sedative?

Hi guys I have some phenergan/promethazine tablets for insomnia, they do work most of the time but I have to take 50mg and it takes about an hour to kick in plus they make groggy and depressed the next day so I am looking for an alternative. The question I'm asking is zopiclone stronger than phenergan? And if phenergan works for me will zopiclone? I'm hoping my doctor will give me some.

I"m not expert on these drugs but I do know that melatonin is also a strong sedative, and is all natural, and even helps regulate your body's biorhtyhms.  I'm guessing you've also tried all the other basic approaches, such as deep breathing, doing things such as hard yet gentle physical labor to exhaust yourself before sleep, turning off all your gadgets at least an hour before sleep, and are you generally eating healthily?.  Having a good diet with plenty of meat, carbs, and vegetables, and minimal sugar, caffeine and processed foods, worked like f*cking magic to help me become calmer and sleep deeper, when I had sleep problems.
