Whiplash

4 weeks ago I suffered a whiplash injury to the right side of my head and ear. 2 days ago I started to have a tightness on the top of my head, almost like a tension headache. Insides of ears feel full, pain seems to be moving around my head. I saw my doctor and she said it would take time to settle. But this pressure feeling is worrying me? Any help or reassurance would be helpful.

I met a lady at a hospital, appointment in the waiting room.  she told me of a similar experience to your, except that her dizziness had come on suddenly for another reason, which I forget now, however, she was involved later in a minor car crash and had whiplash, and her dizziness  went!!!  maybe you should go and see an osteopath

Hi Marion, I have the same, including the ears feel full from time to time, pins and needles on top of my head, sometimes in forehead or back of head.  I have a prolapsed disc at C3 from 1973 but my dizziness started two and a half years ago,  After endless ENTs, MRI and blood tests, a neuro surgeon, and two neurologists, I got the diagnosis of silent migraine.  I have trouble with lights in shops, on my phone and this PC.  I have had 8 lots of medication and nothing has worked.  Botox at the migraine clinic helped to stop my eyes from jumping around but the dizziness has never gone.  Its constant which makes going to work tough.  Socialising is out of the question and I have no life whatsoever.  I hope you dont end up having the same, but I know the feeling of pressure in your head and ears.  See your GP and get a scan as a starting point to rule anything serious out.  My ears are now pumping and I can feel the blood rushing about.  I think stress and anxiety makes it a lot worse. I have terrible trouble concentrating and cant remember words.  My next appmt is for botox which has helped in the past and stopped my eyes from jumping about.  I think its SCM personally, maybe thats what you have.

I have had an MRI scan and all the other tests which were negative. I see the cons on a regular basis, but all they offer me is, for me to try a drug they use for patients who have epileptic fits and there is only a 10% chance it will help. Up until now I have refused as the side effects are horrendous, and as I am lactose intolerant, finding one without lactose in.

Yes mario. I too have had the MRI's. Think they use them to rule ting out as opposed to finding anything helpful!!  Also drugs for me were useless or side effects bad,mo know what you mean about la those as I am also intolerant of it. If I have. I dairy to,speak of now and if I do as this morning I am all blocked up,and ears popping, mcoughing up etc which is not good if you have our problem.Amiltryptine was the one they tried to give me last time, I refused it as the side effects were not good,,including dizziness! I read the leaflet, and chucked them out!  Don,t worry you have only had this a short time, forget the drugs you do not need them. See the osteopath and am sure he will sort you out!

    Hi Marion

Ive got the same and today Ive got full ears whch are pulsating.  Ive had the epilepsy drugs and they were awful.  Made me really sick and dizzy and I already had that.  Just given up beta blockers as they are making me very depressed.  I think Im heading down the botox route now.  Drives you round the bend and wears you out.  Look up SCM - thats really interesting.
