40 year old male, no pre-existing disease

Since last 2-3 months, I have had a few white patches:

(A) On my navel- single patch, constant in size (or perhaps very gradually increasing), size of a coin, no itching, no symptom

(b) 2 patches on my shoulder (not that white), size of coins, not as white as navel patch, not itchy, not increasing in size (or perhaps very gradually increasing)

(c) White colored patches on the inside of my lower lip (that can be scraped off), waxes and wanes, sometimes covers entire inner lower lip and then resolves- no symptom except appearance and some rough sensation felt by the tongue

As you have said you also have it in your mouth I wonder if this is possibly Lichen Planus. You need to see a dentist to have your mouth checked out, they may want to do a biopsy to make sure of what is happening. You could try a 1% hydrocortisone ointment on the dry skin patches, but if this doesnt help you will need to see a doctor. It may appear elsewhere on your body, and start to itch but often it clears up in about 1-2 years. Its not infectious to others and not a fungal infection, but do keep a watch on it.
