White patches

Posted , 9 users are following.

I’m freaking out a bit. I’ve had white patches start to show up about 1 week ago. I’ve never experienced the white patches before (I was diagnosed 10 months ago). I’ve had my inner Labia fuse and then my clitoris started shrinking and my specialist then diagnosed me and started clob. These white spots/patches seemed to be improving the last few days but today I’m soo itchy again and the spots seem to be spreading all over my outer lips. It could be that I haven’t been using clob enough, I’ve only been putting it on the patches. I guess I’m just looking for reassurance. Because it’s all over and even starting to move to my perineum and bum! My dermatologist is away so she isn’t aware that it’s been flaring so much. How long do the white patches take to calm down? Will the itching subside soon and will the white go away?

    Hi Isabelle,

I would recommend you go back to square one and rub in the Clob all over every day for a month then every other day for a month then twice a week as maintenance. The white patches should be gone or much improved by then and SHOULD disappear as long as you maintain properly. Ensure you rub in the coin for 90 seconds. That's REALLY important and as is keeping all areas moisturiser and protected with a barrier cream. I use HYDROMOL OINTMENT. You can put on at least 30 mins after Clob. I also spray area with water with a pinch of bicarb in after I urinate and reapply the Hydromol if necessary. Keep off sugar which is known to cause flare ups.

we are all different but this works for me and keeps away the itching and white patches. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Also I had external thrush on my vulva. Do you think that could have caused the flare?

I'm not surprised you didn't know about it I and I'll bet 99.9% of the ladies with LS are not told as I believe most gynaecologists and don't even know !!!! I heard it on a recorded lecture on this forum from THE expert on LS . There was lots of information on it I would never have known otherwise. I cannot remember the consultants name. Can any other lady help with the info on the name and how to find the recorded lecture ?

I was told when I first was diagnosed to use Clobetasol on just the top part of my pinky finger. Then apply to both sides of labia. Less is best. I do use Emuaid for the bottom of vulva to bum. I don't use Clobetasol there because it thins the skin. If I had a Dr. rarely around, I'd get a different Dr. if you can. You need one that is available for consults!

I'm so sad about this condition. I've been treated for over a decade for recurrent yeast. Now one of my labia minora is gone and the other isnt far behind. Anyone taking a holostic approach?

No official diagnosis yet, but I know...felel hopeless, depressed,...

Also, this condition being Newly Aware, is so overwhelming. Can someone post the treatments in 1 post?

I've been up all night reading the treatments. I have no clob yet bc I need a Dr. To diagnose me, but I'm sure to have it...intense burning, some itching, disappearing labia minora (no white patches) that I can see but area looks grey.

Help! Can someone list the bath regiments, coconit oil regiments, I'm afraid of steroids forever....

I really need emotional support. Idk if I can go on like this...

Hi I so feel your pain!

i have had LS for 4 years. I use the Clob very little because it can tend to thin the skin. I also use coconut oil every time 8 go to the bathroom. It’s soothing but messsy.

i also use Emuaid Max.  My husband found that on the internet. It helps the itching but has a horrible smell s9 8 use it when I am staying home.

my LS travelled from the vagina to areas on my back arms and stomach.

they are gone on my arms but I also lost pigment. The ones on my lower back haven’t changed I. Awhile. I use ALOT of body butter because they are thicker the; lotion.

I am trying to find a doctor in my area that deals with this.

i did get a name for a doctor in Connecticut but looking it up was over 2 hours away.

i wish yo7 all the luck in the world.

this is a horrible disease to have.

I strongly believe that my Thyroid had a huge part in getting this.

    have a good day

I have used both Epsom Salts, and Baking soda baths. Both are very soothing and help heal LS. I think those pix you have seen are from severe cases of LS that have NOT been treated aggressively. You have to be attentive to the treatments and the symptoms. Have you been given medications for the LS? I used it twice a day in the beginning, for flare-ups, etc. I also use Emuaid twice day. Either 1 or 2 hours after the Clobetasol. I hope this helps

Missed something. As far as meals, try the Elimination Diet book. It gives clear suggestions on meals. Most fruit, except citrus, no sugar, no dairy. Lots of tea, coconut water. Hope the suggestion of the book is okay here.
