Hi all

Can anyone give me any idea what these white patches are that have appeared on my skin?

So far this has appeared on my wrists, top of hands, neck, upper back and waist line.

The waist line area was quite itchy for a week or so,

i just assumed this was where my trousers sit and was getting sweaty etc.

ive attached a few pics. appreciate any input

Do all the patches itch? Where did it start first? Can you post a pic of your waistline with the itchy patches. Does it go all around your waistline? How long have you had it?

      Hi Marina

thanks for replying. i have attached a photo of the waist line area.

Id say it started here a few weeks ago with the itching. it goes across my waistline.

none of the other patches have itched at all.

all just come out of nowhere to be honest. i dont feel unwell and the itching has stopped.

What do you think it could be?

It looks quite puzzling, especially as you say it doesnt itch now. I can only guess that it is Lichen Planus, but you would need your doctor to confirm this. You havent caught it from anyone and its not always clear why it happens but if it is LP it should clear on its own but it may take up to 2 years.

From your pics you look quite young so I think it would be a good idea to check this with your doctor. I'm sure you dont want to put up with a mystery rash.

      Thank you Marina.

I have tried some betnovate ointment which appears to reduce the redness, time will tell if the white patches improve.

I will contact my Doctor in the mean time. Thank you for your comments 😃
