White patches of skin on penis and scrotum

about a year ago i started to notice that the skin on the base of my penis was lighter than the other skin. over time more white skin has appeared.

it does not hurt or cause any pain no itching, no flaking, nothing else out of the ordinary other than the light colouring or loss of pigment.

the white is now over most of my scrotum, underneath the penis, with some wrapping around to the top in the middle of the shaft (as in picture) and at the very base.

can anyone help with what this might be?
