White Skin Patch On Shins **Pictures

Hi Everyone,

Recently I've noticed that there's a skin patch forming on my shins. This is occurring on both the right and left leg, in similar spots. It rarely itches and is not flaky when scratched.

I'm not sure if it's vitiligo/pigmentation or fungal infection?

Please advise on what I should apply to it.

Thanks,

I think they are commonly called sun spots. Usually occur on skin that has been exposed to a lot of sun in the past. The correct name is Idiopathic Guttate Hypomelanosis. Its not a cancerous condition . Make sure you apply plenty of sun cream in future. They can also appear on the arms and sometimes just look like white dots.

If they start to itch or spread, or you just want reassurance then try emailing your doctor with a photo as you have done here.
