White Spots on Penis / slight Irritation

I am and have been sexually active and have always been visibly monitoring my penis as I'm getting older. I am 32 years old, 180lbs and I try and stay physically in shape. Thursday night I had sex and everything was 100% no discomfort, spots or irritation. Saturday night I was still 100% but had sex again with my girlfriend and we ran out of our normal lube so I used this massage oil not realizing it was for external use only. (Stupid on my part I know, I just assumed bc I bought it from a sex store) This oil after a few minutes goes from feeling water based to a sticky substance almost syrup type and is thick. we re applied throughout sex but never felt how thick it gets over time. we had sex for about 40 minutes and I seemed fine.

It was 2am so I wasn't looking for any abnormalities. when I woke up in the morning I felt an irritation and soreness to the tough on the top (Not where I pee but on one of the white spots) and the white spots have physically appeared overnight. I believe it's an irritation from the oil but I am curious if that can cause the white spots to appear within hours, as well as an irritation on the top from one of the white spots. I read it could be resolved with a steroid cream possibly but im afraid to irritate it or touch it more when washing to make it inflamed. I was previously tested in late March in which I was clean. It has only been about 24 hours since I noticed and I am a hypochondriac and freaking myself out. I won't be able to visit a Dr till probaly Thursday due to work. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

I've had the same spots since I was 33 (40 now). Tested for every STD (including hsv 1 and 2) and am completely clear. Derms have no idea. Possibilities they mentioned: post inflammatory hypopigmentation (perhaps from dry masturbation) or even vitiligo, though neither seem to really fit. Another possibility was lichen sclerosis, but the spots do not respond to clobetasol or tacrolimus ointments (been using for months), and I am circumcised (ls is incredibly rare in circumcised men).

I doubt your issue was caused by the oil. If you search these forums, you'll find several men with the same spots but no answers (one guy is even a virgin). Looks like the only conclusive answer will come via biopsy.

    Mine also appeared overnight.

Thank you for the quick reply! I was looking at some previous articles but was curious about the irritation. I believe there are 2 possible reasons between the irritation. the spot where it is sore is when I get an election that's where it rubs on pants if I am in work clothes, but also is a possibility of a male yeast infection. my Girlfriend had a yeast infection probaly about 3 weeks ago and says it can cause irritation and white spots if you had unprotected sex with someone that had a yeast infection. I'm going to take some antifungal ointment and see if that helps. I will say in 72 hours the irritation has significantly gone away so it may have just all been coincidence. However the white dots as many others are curious about is what makes no sense, but is a sign of relief knowing yours shown up overnight as well. thank you again

Unfortunately, it is highly unlikely to be fungal. I (and others) have tried numerous fungal creams, and two dermatologists who examined me said it definitely wasn't fungal.

oh okay, so I guess we just live with it and hope it's nothing more serious? They don't cause me any discomfort except the one spot I previously talked about but I think that's just bc of constant rubbing with my work clothes continuously being irritated. when im home and not walking around alot it gets better so im hoping it is not to serious. going to schedule a doctors appointment but I appreciate your input!

That's all we can assume at this point. I've never had any problems / issues, just discoloration, and I've been tested. I'm assuming it's some kind of friction damage, but that's just a guess. In any case, the only way to get the 100% true answer would be a biopsy from a derm or urologist.
