Who do you talk to?

I have anixety issues. I feel like my husband doesn't understand. And how could he, he has never suffered from it. I feel like I have a bunch of feelings trapped that needs to be released. My mind can never relax because I have so many negative thoughts. I made an appt with a therapist in hope's that it helps. I am so good and putting a smile on my face.

    Hi Jay,

Its so hard to speak to people especially when they have never been through what you are going through. My hubby listens but has no idea what goes on inside my head, lol.

A good therapist can be very helpful and its just good to get it all out there sometimes.

    When is your first appointment???

It's tomorrow. I'm excited about it. I really don't think my husband understands how bad it is. Even if I tried to explain. I really don't tell him much about it. I only really say something when I feel like I have some medical condition and need to go to the doctor

Do you take medication for it or you just need to talk? When I was making an appt they asked if I just needed to talk to someone or if a doctor suggested medication

I kinda feel as though my husband doesn't see it as a serious problem. We started dating years and years and years ago lol in high school so I believe he assumed I did this on my own for attention. Now as an adult i believe he knows there is a problem. In my mind I've had every form of cancer so he may think I'm crazy also lol

Unoess the person has experienced it they cant relate. My mither in law used to not understand and very late in her life she got ine and asked me how i ever lived with such these attacks as they are horrid. Its interesting those who get the, can get nervous with someone having ine and thise who never had ine think we are mental or being over dramatic. I swear if i had to bet anything i really believe these attacks stem from some virus. Too many people and many similiarities. Whether its health anxiety or fear or fear from ptsd or illness the actual panic attacks are rough. They have forums, oprahs supersoul sunday..she gets anxiety thats how she started all these shows from her past, therapist, be sure they are experienced, cbt therapy which provides tools. Honestly there are so many videos in the net with so many ideas and tools too. It very talked abiut. It was not when i was younger only joked about and not down as a mental issue it was behavioral. They switched it. They mige so much over to mental issues now which kind of almost dismisses by other people. But very hard to exoect another to understand it. And it hamoers their lives as well because they have life expectations of their own. It also can get draining in everyone. The same as an illness does. And have an illness, ailments can cause all these anxieties as well. So the whole thing is rough. you find other people to talk too. If you have no diseases or ailments then cbt or whatever calming resources you learn will be very useful. You can self learn this stuff off the internet too. Without wuestion learn proper belly breathing

Hi jay i read your post and i agree with you nobody understands you unless they go through it... it sucks feeling anxious all the time your mind just keeps running and running with different thoughts and when you try talking about it husband doesnt understand u and assumes other stuff like you are not okay or just maybe doing it for attention... it took my husband a little time to understand how i was feeling and dealing with my anxiety but talking about it will sure help your husband understand it... have a serious talk express all your feelings and let him know that u are aware of your anxiety but would like him to maybe take it a bit more serious... do you get any anxiety attacks? Please let us know if therapy works thanks smile

Most people would never guess my anxiety level! I laugh and joke, talk and smile. I do take an antidepressant every day which helps a lot, but I do have times when I am very anxious. I trying to fight through it, but it's very difficult. Lately, I'm having a lot of health anxiety. I'm going for a c u eckup after Christmas so maybe that will alleviate some of it. I pray so.

I definitely know about health anixety. My most recent episode was due to a health concern with a lump in my throat. Is the antidepressants for your anxiety?
