who remembers

i cant remember hun i was only about 6yrs old i no the engine or the hot seat as we refered to it was in the middle of the two seats ,

my uncles  ford zodiac or may have been a ford zepher  was column change i remember the big wheel no gear stick ,everything was on the steering wheel , but i was about 12 then ,so memory a bit better ,

actuly hun come to think of it my dads van might have been a commit 

it had a kind bull nose quite flat front .with a grill .

its the same van that dennise water man drove in in the film up the junction .

thats not much help i know but every time i watch that film i say my dad had that van .

My late uncle had one of those Bedford vans, and I remember the column change and the 'hot' seat - I loved it.

I think they used the same type of van in 'Up the Junction'.

i am 55 but except for the problems i have with my fibro 

i still feel about 35 . any way whats wrong with classic films and memories its better than the mindless pap they turn out today .

at least we have memories things change so fast these days .memories will be quite forgotten .for future generations .

do you remember milk dispensing machines you used to get at railaway and bus stations and on corners out side diarys . not many people do .

I remember much of the past as if it was yesterday including milk machines, and milk bars (a bit like cafes but selling only milk-based products) - do you remember them?

And then there were the old fashioned sweet shops where you could buy a couple of ounces of sherbert with a liquorice twist, and then the traditional hardware shops with that lovely smell of paraffin, where you could buy 2 nails.

Oh yes, those were the days.

oh yes such happy memeories shopping with my gran on saturday mornings we did all the shops starting with green crossers, the crossers ,news paper shop, bakers ,and butchers, our shop sold all sorts i suppose today it would be called a pound shop . .one side of our shop was an electric repair shop

he other side o f us was a book shop .i loved living in a shop .

i remeber getting a block of ice cream wrapped in newspaper to keep it cool, from the ice cream van. i am not quite old enough to remember milk bars , but i remember going in to cafes with those orange machines with floating plastic oranges in them. and mc vitites single biscuites wrapped in blue foil for milk or red foil for plain .

i love hard ware shops they have one in the black country musem 

has all the old stuff in it .buckets fire irons etc . i love living musems .

every time i see a hardwhere shop , i think of the sketch , fork handles .by the two ronnies . brilliant .

Yes, these arte all good memories, but now we have to contend with the tribulations and pressures of this modern world, and the worry about how our children and grandchilden are going to cope with it, having not had the benefit of our experiences.

i think the 60s child was the last child to grow into a rounded adult 

we had boundries, consequences , and freedom .

these things are needed so we can learn ,right / wrong, so we can learn about danger, and we gained so much experence due to our freedom .

Yes dear I remember waxed paper drinking staws, as they used to have them in the Milk Bar.

I also remember my parents being able to buy a semi-detached house for £350 and a pound for cheese for one shilling.

Can't remember how much a tram or bus ticket was though, but I know it was cheap.

yes the kick start esp on old bikes could be a killer,

the crank on cars and vans was to turn the engine over and on cold or damp mornings athe air was thick with blue language.

Rolf my bungalow's pretty thick with blue language sometimes, wonder if I could crank it up to clean itself? 

really annoys me because i never use vile language expressive words like sh*t and bloody etc .and never aimed at anyone directly ,not even at those who aim it at me with abuse like macdonald .

The website wasn't advertising anything, it was simply giving nutritioun advice, not selling anything. They do exist, kind people who make websites to help.

oh i no georgia its stupid you try and keep people safe by giving them proper web pages and safe suppliers . and if you forget to pm its deleated still think its stupid .esp when 

esp when other sites have alsorts of info on them for anyone to see and a lot of it not correct 

yep supposed to . i mean you cant pm everyone that might be interested so not everyone will get the info .i no for sure i havnt got the energy to pm everyone with the same info .
