Hi brently about 3 years ago I started with coughing choking and a feeling of short of breath! Xrays, scans ecg, nothing! I'm a life long sufferer ( 60)  years and counting from anxiety! But I'm also a keen gym, running man, my latest symptoms are cramps and spasms around my torso, fierce cramps dropping me to my knees! Doctor , A&E, consultant waste of space! I'm finding that the muscles in my back and stomach are squeezing my chest and lungs, when I run, unlike others get tired as they go, I get better as my lungs demand more oxygen I breath deeply and slowly! Try diaphragmatic breathing excersises, breathing in through the nose expanding the diaphragm filling the stomach with air, and out through the mouth completely cramping the diaphragm, 10 times.

If you do not breathe you will be digging up the Daisies. You have been tested and found to be ok. Breathing is a natural thing we all do, if you hold onto your breath the body will generally force itself to take in air. The hospital seems to consider same and like many would concur

When we sleep the intake of air and breathing can be less as the body does not need more air, it is less when at rest. When the body is awake the body needs an increase in air to increase Oxygen in your blood, this will increase as the body performs certain tasks like housework, we relax the body and muscles are at rest, their needs are less.

If you went outside for a run etc the body will increase your breathing to allow your blood to carry increased air.

It sounds like your Anxiety is making you stressed  and  you need to square that circle.

Try holding your breath over an extended period when resting, Your body will gasp for air to fill your lungs and feed your blood supply.

Get earbuds and go to you tube and search for Mindfulness breathing Guided meditation 10 minutes.  Listen carefully and it will calm down your breathing and relax your mind and body.

    Many others to choose from.

    Also great meditations for anxiety!

Shortness of breath is a very common symptom of anxiety but you need to learn how to manage it.

    Hope this helps!??😁👍
