Why Do I See Sharper When Looking Down in My New Eyeglasses?

Hello,

I have recently bought new eyeglasses and noticed that when I look down, I see a bit sharper compared to when I look straight. Also when I look to the left, I see worse than I look straight and that's only happens in right lens.

See image that I attached. Green zones is where I see better than when I look straight and red zone is the area where I see worse than when I look straight.

Why would it be that way?

Were these prescribed by an optician? or just glasses bought in a supermarket?I am assuming they are not varifocals.

The most likely answer is that the lens is not perfectly flat like a pane of glass and the curvature is acting like a lens. If they were prescribed after an eye test and you are not happy with them then go back and ask for them to be checked. if you bought them in a supermarket then those lenses are very standard and do not take into account your personal eye prescription.
