Amy I have had anxiety for over 30 years and I can tell you that it can be very random. It can happen when you least expect it to happen. I don’t think even scientists know for sure why.it’s just that for some reason the brain senses danger when we have anxiety or even underlying anxiety that we are not aware of. So the brain sends out adrenaline which causes the heart to race. It’s crazy. I got to the point where I just accepted whatever sensation anxiety decided to give me. I don’t make a big deal of it because that makes it worse. I just tell it to "stay as long as you need to but I’m busy and I can’t pay attention to you. "

eventually it backs off.always remember that no matter how weird it feels, anxiety sensations cannot hurt you. I also practice my proper breathing for anxiety which lowers a heart rate. Listening to meditations for anxiety are also helpful.

that maybe why, if you are thinking you cant go to sleep before 12 you are already planting that thought in your head. my symptoms have changed to my breathing now feel like i cant breathe properly when i can, keep fighting it!
