Hi Jim. I just wanted to let you know that here in Canada they do prescribe it for AS. Both my son and I tried it but are now on Enbrel. Take care.

any particular reason U quit Remecade?

MY A.S. is still quite active and I am considering changing to       Simponi (sp) or something else

I was told a few years ago that a person can build an intolerance to the remecade and have considered changing several times. I also developed tinnitus from ???? I have tried eliminating all my meds and changing my diet and have essentially tried everything but changing my biologic. Exercise is the only thing that keeps me going right now.

Hi. My son was put on remicade whe he was 14 and it was like a miracle drug. He was able to play hockey and it really seemed like he would be able to have a "normal " life. Sadly as the time went on the medication got to the point where it would only last for 10 days to 2 weeks and then would end up in so much pain that he would be stuck in bed till the next infusion. When he was 16 he had a cancer scare. He had to do the whole biopsy and continues to this day 7 years later having to monitor his lymph nodes. Since then he has gone through humaira and now is on enbral. For myself I have gone through humaira to enbrel now. My doctor and I are thinking of trying remicade but I also have psoriastic arthritis and bouts of Iritis with enbrel is suppose to work well with. From my understanding if you can stay on one bio med for as long as possible because evidently you might run out of options. Good luck.
