    Hi

The barometric pressure changes at night and causes the air pressure to change between the sections of the ear canal. If your eustachian tube doesnt' work property, it won't be able to compensate for the changes at night. So basically it's unable to do it's job just like when you go up a hill, fly on a plance or go diving.

Of course that doesn't explain the cause of your ETD, just the reason it hurts more at night.

I've been trying to figure this out as well. Changes in barometric pressure is one theory. I have also wondered if this is neuropathic or vasucular in nature. Those conditions also present in the eveing.

Yes. There's been people who suffered from TMJ and thus eustachian tube problems. The joints in your jaw will be sensitivie to weather changes and BAR pressure changes too, so that would explain it too.

What are your exact symptoms and are there any triggers (other than wrose at night)?
