    Hi Miranda

?It could be that your eye pressure (IOP) is not high enough to cause concern yet so a referral at this point would be a waste of time. It is common to make pressure checks every 6 months and nothing to be concerned about. Do you normally wear glasses? Do you need to wear glasses? When you say your eyes hurt, what exactly do you mean? I ask because I have Glaucoma myself and would know from your description whether it could be Glaucoma related or not. Eye Pressure should be under 20 in each eye, only when it goes over that do you start eye drops daily to bring the pressure down. It doesn't sound to me that you are losing your sight so please do not overthink this and worry too much. If you feel it necessary, you could find another Eye Doctor to get a second opinion to put your mind at rest. Or, speak to the one you have recently seen and ask what the IOP is in each eye (bearing in mind that under 20 is ok). I think he is just being cautious but it is worth your time asking.

I hope the above helps you and you get some answers, but please reply to me giving me further information if you need to.

A waiting period is usual if he prescribed eye drops to see if they have any effect. Is your doctor an opthalmologist? You should however get a second opinion.
