Hello it sounds like your Anxiety.

They have given you all the tests and they are negative of any problems, you now need to accept all of their results and move on

I understand the fears you have are very real, try and move on and get on with your life as your GP has said

Did the hospital check your bone profile? This is important to try to detect any problems with your thyroid and parathyroid glands and also to rule out any calcium deficiencies that can cause numbness and tingling.

Were you referred to a neurologist?

Have you ever injured your jaw?

Hey thanks for the reply no they didn't mention about my bones or even refer me anywhere they said my neck was stiff and to see a chiropractor and it might relieve the numbness in due for a neck and back X-ray next week as I've had 2 car accidents thanks for the info much appreciated

Jody You are welcome. The problem is that some healthcare professionals pass everything off as anxiety rather than to listen to the patient or to order any tests etc due to the cash strapped NHS.

In your case however it does sound as though you were given the correct advice which is that you have a neck problem.

Did the hospital know that you have had two car accidents and that you may have suffered whiplash?

You need to advise them of this. I would see a physio for an assessment rather than to go to a chiropractor.

Sorry Jody just seen that you are to have an x ray etc next week so obviously you did teell the hospital about the car accidents.

You may need an MRI scan of your spine rather than x rays as MRI scans give much more detail than an x ray.

Thanks again yeah I hear you they are too quick to say oh it's anxiety just so they can get you some tablets and you be out the door it's sad and troubling as so many people's health is over looked.I did tell them about the accidents and they said that could be my problem I'm just scared as the numbness in face is getting worse and sending me into a panic eek.Cheers again for the advice and hope all is well with you.x

Jody Try not to panic. You really need to see a Chartered Ohysiotherapist as soon as possible to get an assessment. If necessary they can write a Report to your Gp or even make a referral to a Consultant Neurologist or Orthpaedic person with a view to doing an MRI scan of your neck/spine.

Can you afford to go privately just to see the physio? Some will advise for free over the telephone.

The dr at the hospital should have referred you to physio. Did you see an A and E junior dr?

      |Are you in the UK?

Thank you for your kind words.

Jody you need to focus on yourself because you know the implications  of the signs and symptoms.

The chiro is right but did he or she suggest any action or a referral to the orthopaedic or neurology department?

?Can you find a childminder so you can go to the hospital?

I do not know the sytem in US re tests and scans but t sounds as though you need an MRI scan of your neck and spine asap.

?I have a feeling that you saw a junior dr in ER or A and E. Why didn;'t the dr you saw refer you to a consultant or for a scan?

I think you need to get a referral for a scan from the chiro.

Can you get seen as a matter of urgency?

I would try to see a physiotherapist as soon as possible.

Can you get a child minder so you can get to the hospital or a physio. Unsure what they call them in the US!!

Hey love yeah it was a younger doc I saw in the ER they don't seem qualified enough to me for looking after people and their health!!!!!!They never suggested anything except pills for Anxiety that I never got do not want anything to do with them. But I kind of knew my neck and back were in a bad way before I went in so after my hospital trip I followed up with my chiropractor who is the one sending me for the X-ray.I wish I had a babysitter my parents wil be here soon from England not sure I can't wait much longer though the numbness is sooo bothersome and scary!!!!Thanks for cheering me up and giving some insight as to what may be the problem here cheers!!!

      No problem.

Can the chiro write a Report and request the MRI scan which gives much more detail than any x rays. Please try to get a childminder. I do not ish to pry but can your partner/hubby mind the children? Can u take the children with you to the hospital.

Jody that is terrible. The dr should have initiated a referral to either orthpaedics or neurology.

I assume that you are insured and therefore entitled to specialist care.

You need to stand up for your rights.

Numbness of the face etc is not a symptom of nxiety particularly with a history of whiplash!

To blame the signs and symptoms as the dr did on anxiety is just too ridiculous for words.

It is a good job that you have a chiro and went to see him otherwise where would you be now. Can u go back to the hospital and demand an MRI scan, politely of course.

You must focus on yourself and try to get a childminder or tske the children with you when you go to the hospital.

Jody It is th least I can do. Please try to get to the hospital and get some thyroid hormone and antibody tests done, it really sounds like a combination of factors. By that I mean a thyroid issue that can vbe triggered off by pregnancy etc, also neck problems caused through two car accidents.

I do not wish to alarm you but you really should do everything you can to get an orthopaedic or neurological opinion about your neck. Will your chiro do a referral to reqyuest an MRI scan? Can u get your thyroid hormones checked via your insurance? I am in the UK.

There is a thyroid forum on patient co . I would strongly advise you to look at the hypothyroid as well as the hyperthyroid forums. I have a thyroid issue and have smilar signs and symptoms.
