Why isn't there a cure for this yet?

First of all i would like to wish everyone "Happy New Year".
I have hsv 2 since dec 2014, i have accepted it but i do have those days that i just get extremely depressed.
I don't understand why there isn't a cure for this yet?! There is even a cure for syphilis in its early stage!
Its so unfairrrrr, when u do a check up they dont even test for herpes! When u get diagnosed with it they tell you its not a big deal but still there isnt a cure for this or is it part of the std tests.
Right now i am just driving myself crazy because i finally met someone i really like but i dont know if things will work out between us. I just dont want to tell and if things dont work out that i will be known as the girl with a disease.
Its all been stressfull lately

Hi, you've had this since 2014 how have you got on with relationships during this time? How do you tell people and do you no the person your Darin at the moment? Sorry for all the questions I'm yet to be diagnosed but waiting on my results but I think I no what's coming to me and my view so far is that I don't ever want to date again.

To be really honest with you. Looking back i realized that my first outbreak was is dec 2014. I thought back then that it was a reaction of a new razor i used. Since i am very sensitive and have experienced this many times. Later on i knew something wasnt right with my body and in the Netherlands they are very difficult, without any proof they dont just perform certain tests. When i finally had it done, paying cash for the test in a different country where my parents live. My test results came back negative for both Igg Igm of hsv 1 and 2. But i just knew i had it by doing my own research and symptoms.
I haven't really dated and told anyone yet. Where i live now, its such a small island and i dont want to be known for the girl with herpes. I just try do be as healty as possible, always use protection and dont have intercourse when i feel a outbreak coming up.
But right now i am really in a dilemma i want to tell the guy i am dating. But i am so sure he will leave right away.

Aw, you guys ...
We will date again & we will find relief!!!
This virus will not get me further down than i have made myself!!! There is absolutely no reason for us to cause ourselves more pain.
Research til you feel like you have answered your questions (you'll never stop). Stay healthy (eat right, rest, and drink plenty of water). Find relief (i ingest Garlic, Licorice, Cayenne, & Oil of Oregano intermittently two oils mixed with water for two weeks at a time). If we don't help ourselves, who's going to? ??
? ? ? Stay True ? ? ?

Hey I get you perfectly. I was diagnosed June 2016 and I still have days where I just don't understand why I have this and why there's no cure. It's very unfair we have to live with this. It's very uncomfortable 😣. I hate it cause I get out breaks every month. Like if it was my period. But your not alone. Everyone in this website understands each other. So we're not alone at all.

i am going to ask my doctor if i can start taking valtrex. I dont get outbreaks often anymore. i realised that i get it when i am very stressed and when i am stressed its always about herpes and the dillemma im in.
How does your prescription work? do you get Valtrex for a whole month?
it may be a strange question but since i dont live in the UK or US,i was just being curious.

Well as I thought I got my results through today and confirmed I have the type 2. At first I broke down on the phone when I got told but I think I'd mentally prepared myself for it my out look now is to get on with this virus and learn how to live with it. Just thinking there is a lot more people out there worse off then me who would do anything to swap there illness to something as minor as this. I'm still alive and it's not life threatening and never will be! I have found these discussions on here really helpful so if anyone has any tips on helping my immune system on fighting any outbreaks it would be much appreciated. Thank you
