Wierd tingling feeling in head/neck

i have suffered from anxiety and depression for about 10 years now (i was about 12 when my symptoms arose) But nothing like this has ever happened before, i dont really know how to describe it. its like electricity is shooting through my brain near the base of my neck and up through the back of my head. I get headaches on the sides of my head but thats different than this feeling. And of course the anxiety/paranoia has me thinking something else is seriously wrong and that im dying , especially since ive been having shortness of breath (probably allergy related) even though more than likely its just the anxiety itself causing it. Has anyone else experienced this before? It would ease my wandering thoughts to know im not the only one experiencing this.

Hey! I just want to let you know this is exactly how I’m feeling! I get radiating pain from my neck up to the back of my head! Sharp pains, pins and needles, my temples get this deep dull pain that lasts for seconds then goes away and comes back. I get headaches too! I usually feel it at the top of my head. I also get shortness of breath!

Wow I am going through exactly what you both describe! It I have this constant pressure in the back of the head daily and I think I’m dying of a brain tumour! I have a referral to have a CT scan and have had it for 3 months but the anxiety of getting it is killing me. Does anything help to stop the pain?

Just do the CT scan man! Get it over with! It’ll help your anxiety so much!

Simple Anti-inflammatory medicine works! (Advil, Aleve) also take Magnesium! (Tablets) Magnesium can calm your nerves. The down side though is that the pain is only gone for a few hours before another flare up happens sad

Sounds like you have twisted something in the neck or you have been bending your head over your working place, like a laptop etc This can also

    be caused by anxiety.

Although it could be a posture problem, Have you been in a car that had to stop suddenly, A whiplash.

    You are not dying

You need to grasp confidence, you need to move on.
