Since this operation she first of all was constipated for the first 6 weeks ,now she can’t keep off the loo.
Anything and everything she drinks or eats sends her to the toilet .
She is in constant pain around her navel and left hand side ,however after spending several hours in A:E she hasn’t got apendictus .
She is due to have a scan on Friday .
We are due to go on holiday in 4 weeks time ,having had to cancel the last one due to her removal op.
As usual local doctors are mowed out ,local hospital even worse .
She eats a clean diet most of the time and doesn’t drink alcohol .
Please help ............
Thanks
Stuart

Sorry your wife is suffering like this. Your wife needs to see a gastroenterologist. Doctors in A&E probably won't be able to help much. She may gave bile acid malabsorption. If she does, there is medication she can take for it. But first, she will need to have tests, and a gastroenterologist is the best doctor to diagnose and treat her. Best of luck!

Hi Stuart ..... I'm so sorry you wife is going through all this post op stuff. I had my GB removed in April 2015. Just before going into theatre for the actual operation I was told that I would probably always suffer from diarrhoea always and that I should take something like immodium. To be fair, I was suffering like this prior to my op. I was experiencing pain after my op to the point I had to go to my doctor again and was sent for a further scan. The scan showed nothing at all, but the lady who did the scan told me that there are so many people who've had this op who complain of similar after pain. two and half years in and this does seem to have corrected itself (fingers crossed). I can't wear anything even slightly snug round my waist as this brings on an awful stitch like pain, nor can I wear a bra which is slightly tight. For the first few months I was unable to lie on my right side whilst in bed, but this has subsided now. I am still very careful about my diet - anything too fatty is a no no. You don't realise how important your gall bladder is until it's gone.

Hi Stuart
Diarrhoea is a common issue after gallbladder removal I think at least my consultant warned me about that several times, he also said if I had it... it would improve over time, although in some cases it could last a year or forever. He recommended normal over the counter medicines if affected and to visit the GP if they didn't control it.
The pain is good to get checked out though I'm only 3 weeks post op and apart from the occasional feeling of soreness and an ache here and there I've not had any pain at all. She's not been overdoing it has she lifting stuff around etc? The danger of keyhole surgery is I think that you can feel so well it's easy to do too much without noticing I thought it was a good idea to climb a hill yesterday half way up i thought I was going to die ... I didn't but aches everywhere this morning.
Good luck hope all is well.
