Hi I started sertraline 50mg 23 days ago, I started taking mine just before I got into bed and have kept to doing tha, so I slept through most of the side effects, I feel a lot better than when I started but it can take between 4-12 weeks to take effect but the side effects if u get any should go between 7-10 days so hang in there as it does seem to get worse before it gets better, if u do struggle with side effects go bk to docs for something to ease the side effects, good luck and let me know how it goes x

Is this a straight switch from citalopram to Serts?

As Vikki says "it does seem to get worse before it gets better" but as they are similar meds and you are already on citalopram the side effects might not be as bad..... let's hope!

Hang in there mate It was the opposite for me. I was on 100 sert for 9 weeks.in the end I through them away I thought I was going mad with them. Maybe I didn't give them long enough. I went on cit and have been happy on them for 10 months and slowed them down from 30 to 20.

You have to remember meds only mask your problems, we all need to deal with our sh*t some time. I now am a more positive person than when I was before I got I'll. I had seen a hypnotist and I feel positive all the time now. good luck

Stick with the Sertraline, I have been on this for almost 18 years with little or no side affects apart from the initial five weeks. It is the most helpful and less side affect anti depressant tablet available.
