will dry eyes get better

im on day 7 of prozac 20mg and days 2 and 3 were the worst. could barely go to work. kept headaches under control with lots of ibuprofen and then the dry eyes started in. I'm a contacts wearer so this is a problem. it's hard to keep my eyes open sometimes. noticed a few days in I would wake up with pretty blood shot eyes but figured it was just the grogginess. will this and the dry mouth improve or am I looking at this as a permanent side effect? I was really hopeful with the medication as I've tried lots of others and usually stop because of one side effect or another.

Oh my eyes have been terrible too. I have been rubbing castor oil on/in them before I go to sleep.

it's been going on for a few months now.

Hi Katie, I have been on 20mg for over 2 months and I started noticing that I would wake up and my eyes are bloodshot too, I am glad I am not alone in this, but it is a side effect. 😦 The first 4 weeks were side effects, dizziness, aniexty, tiredness. It does get better, by around 6 weeks they started going away. Stay the course if you can. I used essential oils and CBD oil during that time to ease the side effects and it really helped alot
