Will I lose weight if I come off bisoprolol?

I’m currently taking 5mg bisoprolol and have gained 20 lbs in under a year. If I came off this medication, would I be able to lose the weight quickly? Would it come off itself?

I reduced my dosage from 10 mg which I had been on for 7 years to 5 mg and lost 6 stone in 6 months. Basically got my life back!

I’m actually on 10mg as well. March will be a year for me.

Are you getting breathless? I found since I halved my dose that I have far more energy which has helped losing the pounds

I was on 5mg but my heart was still beating too fast so I was recently put on 10mg. I am finding that I struggle to breathe when I’m on the treadmill. I have a naturally fast heart (it’s apparently rare). My cardiologist told me I can leave it untreated but he recommends medication. I’m considering coming off meds due to side effects.

No 6 Stone!! As well as cutting the Bisoprolol dose I also cut my portions dramatically. My weight has now levelled off at 132 kg but I would like to lose another couple of stone but that is proving difficult, now thinking of cutting the Bisoprolol again.

Should have mentioned that I also had a pacemaker implanted 7 years ago which has regulated my heart rate and gave me my life back.

Are you in the UK? 6 stones = 84 lbs, that’s amazing! I’ve never heard of stone as measurement so I was confused.

I’m seeing my doctor this afternoon. Fingers crossed to be rid of my bisoprolol days
