I am unsure about what tests they perform at a DVLC medical test, however i do know that cannabis can be a bit unpredictable in how long it stays in your system, and it depends whether they took a blood test or a urine sample or an oral swab or if they took a hair sample because it stays in your hair forever (until of course you have a haircut!)  However I havent heard of anyone being refused a licence because of a medical test, only of them getting into trouble because of being caught driving under the influence.

I hope you really do not drive when high, because its so dangerous, to yourself and others, there have been several horrendous crashes in my area recently where the driver, passengers and people in the other car have all been killed or seriously injured because of the driver having smoked weed then got behind the wheel. I was an IV-heroin user for 10 years so I do understand about drug use, and some people can stick to just using weed now and then without getting physically addicted, but the more often you use it, the harder it is to stop if you had to, and more and more companies are screening job applicants for drug use, so I really would try to knock it on the head sooner rather than later if you can?

The other day I read a scientific paper that said the kind of weed smoked in the 1970s/80s (when I was smoking a lot of pot) had about 1-2% THC. But skunk and other modern types of weed have up to 46% THC and that is pretty near guaranteed to have a very bad effect on the brain. I still have flashbacks and memory loss even now in my late 40's and I havent smoked weed for over 20 years! Didnt mean for this to turn into a lecture, but i think its only fair that I pass on what Ive learned over the years, otherwise my mistakes have been a total waste.

Anyway I hope you didnt get in trouble from that medical, but I do hope you'll have a think about your cannabis use. If you can go without easy, why not go without full stop?wink

No cannabis will be in your system for at least a month, that is with a simple urine test. A more expensive test can trace cannabis for months

I'd have to say no on that for sure! I'm not sure why you would be tested for it to get a license, but in the United States if you are arrested under the suspicion that you may have been drinking, you could get in trouble from smoking cannabis two weeks prior. It simply because it stays in your system that long.
