Hi Leigh, and welcome~
You are not alone! Not at all!
I am 51, periods are very light and totally unpredictable, and I feel like death warmed over lately.
I know it's hard to talk to doctors about, because they always ask 'what is your worst symptom, and we can try to help that first'.
All of them are terrible!
Wishing you some better days~
Sara

You said it!
Trying to be up front about when (daily) and how (varies daily!) rotten you feel is like a mine field. No one (except those who have been there) can imagine feeling so poorly, so often!
I am trying to give myself the grace I would give my best friend, and rest when I need to.
Easier said than done some days, I know.

I often have asked myself that exact question: "Will I survive?" I'm turning 54, and I've been going through this since I was 48! I consider myself an extremely strong person, but perimenopause has almost done me in. Horrific does not even begin to capture how bad my symptoms have been. I feel like I've had every physical and mental symptom that there is. This forum has been a lifesaver for me because, even when you have supportive people in your life, they can't possibly understand just how bad and incapacitating this can be! You have my deepest of sympathy; I get it - believe me!
Reach out anytime that you need support. I will always respond.
Hugs,
Bev xo

Hi Leigh,
You will find lots of help and support from all the lovely ladies on here. You are definitely not alone! Be kind to yourself, I don't know about you but I'm great at looking after others but not so much myself. I'm trying to address this! It's difficult for others who haven't experienced it to understand but that shouldn't stop them being empathetic. It is quite overwhelming at times with the amount of symptoms isn't it, both mental and physical. We will all get through it and realise just how strong we are, even if we don't feel it at the moment.
