So 2 weeks 5 days on Sertraline for anxiety and obsessive thoughts I had a psychotherapy assessment yesterday and found I have OCD accompanied with a possible episode of psychosis now here's my trouble I don't believe I am poorly the thoughts in my head could to me be true. Basically each day I think I may have done something horrible yet can't remember doing anything I am told that I will get better and everything will be ok yet I can't see it at all I have started to feel I can function which I assume is the tablets yet it feels just that I'm functioning until this thing comes out and I realise that I wasn't I'll and I am a bad person. Does that make sense or sounds a bit crazy!!!! I don't n is why I am posting really just for words of advice!

    Hello, Aliciat!

You are a good person.  You are concerned about having these thoughts, which is a great first step.  Take a deep breath, and share these concerns with your doctor.  Wishing you the very best!

Oh you poor thing! Post away! We're all out here with issues trying get and give help, so you're not alone.

Have you tried keeping a journal? it may give you a place to dump your fears so you can get on with your day. Paranoia and anxiety are scary. If you write down what you're experiencing, maybe you can find some patterns. Did you have OCD w/psychosis before you started taking the sert? This is a side effect for some people - google sertraline induced psychosis. Perhaps maybe you should be on a different med? I am not convinced all the doctors out there really have any idea what these meds can do to people...read, read, read.  Hang in there - you are a good person looking for help - don't stop looking until you find it.

Thanks so much for asking today I have had such a better day and started to feel slightly normal I am now on an anti psychotic drug which I was reluctant to take yet thankfully it is helping so I would have taken anything to make me feel less low and believing the thoughts. It's just crazy how mental illness can just pop up and take over your life within such a short space of time. 4 weeks ago I didn't have a care in the world and was running and shopping and out with friends now I am off work stuck in and scared all the time! How are you doing? X

Glad to hear you're feeling a better- doesn't sound like you should have been on the sertraline to begin with, but I'm no expert. I'd talk to a couple of doctors too - it sounds like your condition came out of nowhere - maybe you have blood work or something that's off? Hang in there!

I'm a bunch better than a few weeks ago - still dealing with a couple of little things (itchy!) and weird eye flashes, but nothing compared to how I felt a month ago, so I suppose that's good. I dumped what little I had left in the garbage - not going back no matter what. The St John's Wort, 5-HTP and saffron supplement seem to be helping with my overall mood and sleep, so I'm on an upswing. (c:

Keep is posted on how you're doing! (c: xo
