Will laying down be OK vs sitting in a chair

Will be going in for LTHR Aug 9th, i am a layer, I lay on the sofa to read, watch TV, not much of a sitting in chairs during down time, will that be OK after surgery? I know I will need to get up and walk around but will laying be OK vs sitting up in a chair?? Curios... thanks!

    I laid on my bed after op. This was more comfortable by far. Propped up tho, not lying flat. You have to make sure you can get off what you're lying on safely. The couch was too low at first. My bed was raised so I just kind of slid off from sitting on the side.

    I used a recliner chair (on a big box to raise it - see mywebsite), it was most comfortable, and a change from more upright seating.

      I have two recliners in the living room and going to ask at joint camp

      ( Monday) about a lift chair we have upstairs, that may really work but as it assits in getting you out of the chair it may not help me build my muscles back up. Not sure if that will matter, maybe ease of getting up and down in the beginning will be enough smile

      The height matters a lot - you have to be able to get in and out without breaking the 90 degree rule, hence my 6 inch box underneath my recliner.

      but ... it has to be strong, firm and stable, you don't want to come crashing down.

      I loved the box, sadly my chair on on 4 legs, which can still be done, now to get hubby to do something about it.
