Will my vitiligo ever come back?

Hi all,
I'm 18 and I was diagnosed with vitiligo when I was 5 years old. As far as I know the extent of the white patches on my skin hasn't changed since I was diagnosed at 5, yet I was wondering if there was a chance that it could spread again. My vitiligo is very minor, affecting only the tips of my fingers and the occasional small white dots on the tops of my feet and backs of my thighs. I do go outside very often and regularly have a fair amount of tan - yet I always apply 30+ sunscreen whenever I am in the sun (making sure it covers my white spots). So while my vitiligo has always been practically unnoticable, I'm very concerned about the chance it could in fact spread once again. Being that I'm 18, is it even possible for this to happen at such a late age? And if so what precautions should I take?
Thanks so much for reading.

This is almost impossible to predict. Some people stay with just a few patches and it never gets worse...others find it spreads quickly and others find that it spreads once in a while and then stops again. The worst thing is to be stressed or worry about it. Being stressed out is often a trigger for the white patches to start or spread. You sound as though you are doing all the right things,so at 18 just try to get on with your life. You say its practically unnoticeable,so I'm guessing its even more unnoticeable to others.
