Will sex always hurt

Hi Iv come on my hols and can happily report that in the last few days my inflamation and soreness has eased a lot , the skin on the vestibule are was raw to touch but that has got much much better and Iv felt better than I have in the past year , I'm about 12 weeks using dermovate , the only problem I'm down about is that I had sex last night for the first time in 3 weeks and even though the skin feels ok to touch , sex hurt , I thought once the skin felt better sex would not hurt but it was sore and raw during and after , it made me down again as it's hard to believe the rest of my life will be like this , I'm only 38 and it is depressing trying to come to terms with it all , even though I'm stil waiting to get a prop diagnosis I really think LS is what I have as my hope of any of this ever going away is dwindling , I kept thinking for the last Ur this will go away but it's not , it's easing but even though I'm not sore to touch the sex was !! If I asked my doc for lidocaine would that help or would it make me too numb so I wouldnt enjoy it anything ? Curse of a skin disease and I can't believe I got it , God help my husband he has to suffer too , so not fair 😟

Sex for me hurt, Ive had LS since 21 im now 29. I didnt have sex for 6 years due to pain/tearing.

I am now having sex almost every day. Making up for lost time hehe.

Things that helped me, using a vibrator to stretch me back up again to my b.fs size. Much better than the cones as the vibration helps stimulate blood flow.

Lots of lube!! Seriously a big help, even if you feel ready down there add some lube. It will make it so much more comfortable for you.

When I started sex again it did hurt. But you are restretching the skin. Ive stretched myself back with having sex regular and vibrator.

If you tear use cold saline solution as a wash after going to the loo and put diprobase on. I actually use diprobase after every loo visit and massage it in. Again it all helps to add stretch back.

Dont give up! It will get better smile

Could u tell me the exact diprobase you use? There are a couple different types(emollient, cream, ointment, eczema&dermatitis lotion etc) and several grams (0.1%, 50g,). I will purchase from Amazon. Thank you!

Of course I use Diprobade ointment (emollient) my dermie said always get ointments as they have less stuff in than cream versions so less likely to cause irretation. I get the 50g tube then sqweeze some into those small plastic screw top jars and keep it my pocket for when I go to the loo.

Eperderm has even less stuff in than diprobase but Ive only ever found that in massive tubs!

Not sure where you are but you can pick both up in Boots.

Hi Wigster I used the help of vaginal dialators to stretch things.  I found this a great help .  I started off with the smallest in the set and each week moved up a size as I got more comfortable.  Use plenty of lubricant like Silk or KY Jelly.  I was amazed in a couple of days how much better I was and more comfortable things became.  15 minutes each day is all you need.i hadn't had sex in a long time so I think things tightened up down there.  This gave me the confidence that I would be ok if I relaxed.  It does get better but don't do this in the middle of a flare up wait until things are well settled. Hope my experience helps.  I never thought I would use these when my DR suggested and gave me a set but I gave it a go and and results were good.  Don't despair things do improve!

Thanks for replies , I'm not closing up or anything like that my skin is just sore to touch and does burn and even though the soreness has eased off it still hurt to have sex , I did not use lube as was afraid it might agricate the skin so I'll try this next time , thanks again it's good to know there's a light at the end of the tunnel
