Yes I believe so but you have to be patient. Usually it takes between 4 to 12 weeks to see benefits, It is all individual. Usually it gets worse before it gets better and it goes in waves and usually happens gradually, one day you'll just notice that you have improved a lot. It helps to keep track of your progress so you can look back to see your improvements.

it is important to start slow at 25mg so you get used to the side effects and then increase only every 2 weeks with 25mg at most. If you start to feel good after 2 weeks you can stay longer on that dose to level out. And if anxiety comes back you might have to increase the dose. Anxiety disorders usually gets effective treatment at the 100-200 range. Please talk to a psychiatrist for proper guidance.

Its important to take the meds every day and at the same time. Best of luck to you!

hi hun for me it took about 6 weeks for them to reduce by 80%, after every dose increase they initially return for me and then go away again after a couple of weeks, the toughest part is the first few weeks thats for sure but please keep pushing on try anything at all to distract yourself, music, excersise, write in a diary each day so you can look back on improvements the medication is working its way through your system a week is very early days dont lose hope 😃 wishing you a speedy recovery xx

Hi hun, thankyou so much for your reply. Its so weird its like Ive never noticed thoughts before and when they go I start to panic. It plays on old memories, things people have said to me just go round and round my head. Keeping a diary sounds like a good idea though thankyou xoxo

Have you got a proper diagnosis? It took months before I knew I had OCD. It can come in any theme (most usually it latches on to things you care about or are afraid of), but there is a common pattern called obsessions and compulsions. Since you describe that you have weird thoughts that go round in your head, which is a telltale sign of an OCD thought loop. It happened to me that I got a scary thought, image or urge that stuck to my mind and It caused strong anxiety and I couldn't get out of it. I fought against it for weeks and months, 24 hours a day. I tried to distract myself and avoid situations that would trigger my anxiety, which is a form of compulsion (compulsions csn be any irrational behavior or thoughts and ruminations that eases anxiety in the short term, but they are actually the long term fuel for the anxiety.. This is the complete opposite behavior of what you should do to recover. Not sure if you recognize any of that, just wanted to share my experience since I had no idea what happened to me until I got proper help from a psychiatrist, and your description sounds familiar.

      I see Heather,

I see, I hope you a speedy recovery. Once you are ready, I recommend treatments such as CBT and ACT, it works wonders to learn how to live with this condition. You are not alone and there is hope!

another telltale sign of OCD is the constant intrusive thoughts, they seem like it is your thoughts but actually they are artificial, and come from the primitive part of your mind. My recovery was to accept them as nonsense, nothing to do with my identity and be apathetic to them.
