Wine giving me Rotten egg burps

Hello, hope this is the right category, Im not much of a drinker, I might have a few glasses of white wine every two weeks. But when ever I do, the next day I get gas (lasts about 12-24 hours), burps that taste like rotten eggs. A very sulfer type of smell/taste. But I dont get it everytime I drink wine, only about 50% of the time. Im thinking either its the wine itself or what im eating with it, last time I had wine, I had cheese and peanuts, next day I got the burps, If I eat peanuts or cheese but dont drink im okay, it seems to be only when I combine the wine with the food that the problems starts up. Anyone else have this problem with wine? Is there something I can take before hand to prevent it from happening? Or just lay off the peanuts and cheese while on the wine.

The wine will slow down your stomach activity and will also encourage your stomach to produce more acid. The combination of high fat foods, stomach acid, and alcohol being almost stagnant in your stomach will cause you to burp up the gas being created there.

Thanks for your reply,Also , the wine drinking and eating starts late, about 10 pm on average, im also thinking this doesnt help either. By 1 am im bed sleeping. Next time I drink, I will start early and not consume any type of high fat foods which I think could be triggering something.

Okay, so I experiment last night, had 3.5 glasses of white wine, didnt drink as late. Ate nuts (non salted) And pickles. NO Cheese. And just for good messure took one 75mg Ranitidine tab before going to sleep. Had a full nights sleep. Woke up and felt 100% and still do, no problems, if I was to have a problem I would have felt it by now. So the key is I think, for anyone who has this problem, dont eat too salty and/or fatty foods with wine, and start early, dont start eating and drinking at 10-11 pm at night. Keep it light and keep it early.
