Well I had a great 4 months with no problems with my lungs but now the cold damp days are here it's starting to play up, looks like I'm going to be a winter sufferer, any one else find the cold damp days are worse for them ?

Hi Dave, congrats on a clear summer ... Wish I could say the same!

I don't know about cold and damp, but I haven't looked forward to the onset of the flu season. I've had the jab of course, but the Petri dishes - sorry, kids - are already sniffling and coughing. * sigh*

More sensibly ... the consultant deliberately saw me before summer and got me booked in for end of the month "let's see how you do before the flu season".

    Hey ho...

What about cold but not damp? Any skiers on the forum / mountain living people? Do they notice it getting any worse in the winter?

    Luck Dave

Hope things don't get too bad Dave, I find the exact opposite, we're heading into summer here, my breathing deteriorates in the hot & humid weather, I'm at my wits end between that & (I think) lung pain from a past atypical TB scar tissue, hope you get some relief

Hi JoJo, sorry for the late reply but had a rough few months. I've had my bronchiectasis for a year now & it's slowly getting worse. Spent 5 hours in hospital on Monday after a GP urgent referral as I was coughing up blood again, then spent another 4 hours in hospital on Tuesday as had to have another ct scan with dye. Have a lung infection again & on doxycycline & prednisone for 7 days & have been referred for a checkup for pneumonia! All fun & games eh lol. Hope your well & all is ok, keep smiling & yes this site is a god send :0)

At least you had a good summer.  I do OK during the spring and summer.

I too do worse in the winter months.  I don't know why.  You would think that the cold would be better.  I love the winter, so I don't get to enjoy much of it. I was put on a long term antibiotic last week hoping that would help.  I've already had two stays in the hospital so far this fall, so I'm hoping the long term antibiotics help.

Also, I started taking Mankuta Honey everyday.  I read from several people on this website that that particular honey helps with inflamation and has antibiotic properties.  One teaspoon a day.  Not in anything hot.
