I did. I stupidly came off them cold turkey. Went back on at week 4 as I couldn't take anymore. I'm on a different antidepressant now though. How are you getting on now? x

i didnt come off cold turkey, i went down from 30mg to 20mg for 2 weeks, then 10mg for 2 weeks then nothing, ive been doing pretty well considering what i was like on the medication, its just ill have a week or so every minth where i get really anxiius thoughts about everything thats happenex since being on these horrible meds and worry that theyve caused me permanent damage and anxiety now, i was happiest person youd ever meet before i went on these meds

HI Emily I thought you were doing better? Seems acute withdrawal can last upt to 6-8 weeks and citalopram seems one of the hardest to come off. Surviving anti depressants quite informative if few horror stories. Seem usual story everyone different. Some recover quite quickly others take months. I'm still struggling but unfortunately seems time is only thing that will improve things. Least we are both off citalopram that's main thing!

Sorry to hear that. Would imagine you are still in withdrawal from citalopram which is making you more sensitive to any symptoms from coming off the other med. Also would imagine the fact you were still on the anti psychotic when came off the citalopram probably helped bit with the withdrawal. Are you doing it fairly slowly? Hope it soon passes anyway and things improve x

i was on 50mg of the antiphsycotic, so im going down by 12.5mg at a time which is hard as the pills are so small and not scored, but im on this dose for another week then go down to 25mg

Sounds like withdrawal symptoms from the anti psychotic. The cit was really hard to cut. I feel l exhausted all the time almost like I've got flu cant summon up energy to do anything. As you are doing it slowly hopefully you will soon improve xx

That's a good sign least not all bad. I'm just waiting for the good days. Get cross the way still hand out these meds so readily, some people with anxiety probably benefit more from some talking therapy, but sticking them on pills is the cheap, easy option.

Sure you will be fine eventually. just have get through withdrawal Was on another site lady said can take up to 3 months to adjust from stopping anti depressants. Another person on here been prescribed zopiclone for citalopram withdrawal symptoms. It's so addictive and nightmare get off. Seems mad someone trying get off 1 drug being prescribed a highly addictive drug to help with it nuts!!!

yeah its ridiculous, ive been fine today except morning anxiety thoughts, i went and dropped my 2 year old off at her grandmas then worked from home for the first time in what feels like forever today and it went well! my 2 bad weeks seem yo have gone down to one week of anxiety which is abit more manageable and i can only hope it will improve even more once im off everything!

Hi, i came off citalopram 3 months ago, i was totally fine coming off because i came off slowly but after being off them for 2 months it seems like the withdrawals have started with really bad anxiety and intrusive thoughts. i managed to do really well when coming off i got over my agoraphobia and now it feels like im back to square one.
not actually sure if its withdrawals or im having a relapse. really hope its not a relapse
hope you are well x
