Withdrawal from Sertraline

I had been taking 200mg Sertraline daily for past 12 months my GP took me off this 1 week ago and replaced with Zyban as I am giving up smoking, and he thought the 2 drugs would work against each other. Since then I have felt dreadful, nauseous all the time, dizzy, weepy, no energy or appetite........HELP!! Has anyone else had a bad experience with coming off this drug? I have also stopped taking the Zyban so am on nothing at the moment

HI BECKS i know i could be out of date with this reply, hope you are well, did the doc not cut your dosage down from 200 hundred back to 50,sounds a bit dramatic to cut you off them so quickly.

just got mine today could i be so rude to ask what he prescribed them to you for?

i got them for constant thinking about everything and nothing to wich i started with depression

    regards mark

sad I've recently been taken off sertraline because I'd been taking it for a year and feeling great! I was on 100mg for most of that time, then 50mg then 50mg every other day and now I've stopped completely (as of last thursday) and I feel absolutely dreadfull!!! I feel as bad as I did before I started taking them. I'm having regular therapy and I've no idea if that is helping me or not I just know that I'm not coping at all at the moment. I'm in tears constantly.

I am going through the same thing. Been on sertraline for almost 2 years, have gradually come down my dosage over the last few months, but this week I have finally stopped all together. Its been about 6 days at the moment and I feel dreadful. Crying all the time, very angry, dizzy spells, and bad dreams at night. I guess this is just part and parcel of it and I shall pesist with it and take hope in knowing that this is all part of the withdrawel symptoms. Doesnt make it easy though. Hope it works out for you guys

Iv been on 100mg serterline 4 the last 3 years and 2day my GP sugested i come down 50mg this week and down again more next week. IM not sure it the right thing or not. The reason 4 her doin this is im experiencing sleep problems (lack of it) a numbness with feelings and emotions (not able 2 feel them or show them) not able 2 concerntrate (distant and spaced out) but all this has only just started since around xmas time surley if it was the meds it would of happend b4 now. Any body got any advice. PLEASE ! :? :?
