Withdrawals & Sex Drive Question

HiYa's.

Serious Q. Anyone.or everyone experiencing an insatiable horniness?

I'm almost 2wks into Codeine Rapid Tapering ( 30to40 x 10mg daily) currently down to 100mg Daily Yaay me smile

And i cannot get rid of this sexual feeling & acting on it. My poor partner who is 15yrs younger thought it was great to begin with but now he's worried as he can't "keep up" lol literally.

Please tell me this is a thing & I'm not the only 1. And omg does it slow down a little after withdrawals?

Ahhh Pool, my Daughter has a Pool, i will go to her place to swim ( bonus is, i love the water - just didn't think of that)

Thankyou Kristy, i'm 40 so thought maybe it was withdrawal or PeriMenopause... at the end of the day smile It's a Win Win hahhaa ( we get the toys out if he can't manage)

Just have to have a laugh, it's hilarious although excessively insane

Yup, completely agree - yet another Eason for us to kick codeine smile

Also agree with reading, music, even watching films - I can’t do any of those when I’m ‘on’ codeine.

16 days off now and feeling more present every day, at work and at rest.

Look after yourself and enjoy smile

      Hi Steve,

Thankyou for your reply. Well done mate on 16 Days. Stay strong.

I put 1980s games on a pi ( Galaga, Space invaders, ahhh the memories + many others) before i began this. Pre-occupation is awesome, as long as i remember to actually do it smile

This afternoon is great, tomorrow i will be horrid again no doubt. It's still a struggle with agitation etc & i have to drop another 2 tablets tomorrow to stick to my time line ( end date 31st Jan).

I will certainly "enjoy" myself though smile Thankyou hehehe

Well I havent tried the music with Sex but we have started to have sex like we did in our 20's... And we are going to our first concert together in March! 16years together ??

Im 37 my husband is alittle younger and did suffer from two years of Anxiety/depression which was brought on from work stress... It wasnt a great time in our lives, I wondered if we would ever have sex again.

To my relief, the right meds, love and time made things even better. We dont look like we did when we first met but hey Love is love ...

Sex is a guiltless pleasure and is there to help build foundations with our partner... Keep bangin on its good for your endorphins ... A natural high!

My husband brought me my first vibrator about 4months ago... He told me it might help when I gave up the drugs. He had done his research and read that when you start creating your own endorphins your sex drive goes alittle crazy.... What a great gift 😉

Oh aren't great Men awesome. You have an amazing husband, & i'm also happy he is doing ok within himself too.

My "friend" & i  have been together 17yrs this mth ( yes, do the math lol He was 18 & i was 32 when we met um mahhh) so he knows me better than anyone & did his research to be prepped for this totally.

I have gone back to your other posts often Kristy, to re-read & adjust my thoughts through your longer experience with Taper. I really wish i had longer but alas - i'll manage. I have to. I hope you do realise, your words are a fantastic help.

Ps: for perimenopause i take Valdoxan(anti-Dep), has no libido effect *Winner*

So the plan is, Sex, Swim, Music, Sex & keep those endorphins releasing at the phenomenal rate they have been recently smile

      Thankyou x

Yep happened to me too! I'm not sure why it happens, I found all my senses were heightened when I went through it so I guess it's just that things have been numbed by the codeine for so long they're all waking up again.

Dont stress, it will pass (:
