why do you suddenly want to stop your antidepressant ? as far as i know, mirtazapine adds on a lot of weight but it is good for sleep. would you want to talk to your psychaitrist about another kinds of SSRI ?

ooph are you sure that was the best way? go and ask for a different opinion off your own doctor. it will make you feel exceptionally unwell if you carry on without support. don't forget the samaritans are always there if you need them. you need help and QUICKLY. if you feel you have to go down for a and e. i wish you luck. i weaned myself off dreadful prozac, but by cutting down the dose, bit by bit.

Coming off of antidepressants cold turkey isn't recommended for really good reasons. If you're worried that your doctor won't agree to it, you can still withdraw but do it slowly, reducing the dose every couple of weeks.

When I had to come off of an antidepressant very quickly I experienced some horrible side effects - lack of sleep, anxiety, dizziness, brain zaps and nausea. I found high dose capsules of omega-3 fish oil really helped. I had 4 x 1200mg capsules in the morning and again late afternoon.
