It is seven weeks since my hip operation and my legs are very swollen and heavy making walking very uncomfortable .

Stay away from Woodpeckers. Everyone heals at different timeframes. If Concerned you should see your surgeon.

I have 2 false knee a and a thr my legs are swollen always I'm on water tablets from gp

Im a little over 5 weeks in and my leg especially where the incision is, is still swollen as well. Swollen more at night too. I mentioned this to my surgeon and she said that the swelling might last up to a year and a half. Not really encouraging but perfectly normal. Although I didn't want to hear that it did put my mind at ease a bit. With all the down time my mind seems to want to look for problems. Really have to watch that too. Good Luck

Have you been icing and putting your legs raised above your heart to reduce the swelling, you should do this at least twice a day and soaking your feet in Epsom salts
Don't restrict your fluid levels either as it's a misconception that you shouldn't drink to much if you have oedema

i am 6 wees post op and must be very lucky as i have no swelling at all. Am driving,gardening,and usindg a stick when outside.
i would speak to my gp if i was you

Oh how I wish I was you.
i did contacted shingles two days after returning home which has not helped me.
Did you have your surgery by a spinal block? They do say you make better progress having it done that way..
I had to have a general as I had had back surgery.
i will get there.

just remember everything advised, rest, elevate, exercises, hydration, good food
