Word Catheter

This may sound like a stupid question, but what exactly drains from the hole a word catheter leaves after treatment for a bartholins abcess? Does interfere with your sex life at all? Also right now I'm finishing up my period like just to the spotting point, but there appears to be fresh blood coming from where the catheter is. I've had it for almost 4 weeks and have had constant drainage of a yellowlike substance. It's been very minimal with no smell and hasn't hurt, but now I'm noticing fresh blood from the area. Still no pain tho. I hope this made sense and someone can help me. I go to my Dr in 5 days for removal, but was wondering if someone could give me a few answers now.

4 weeks?! Mine was painful constantly and fell out on day 3 so it sounds like yours was planted just right. But yes, mine bled and oozed and it was awful. Once the bag and cath. were out the hole closed up pretty quickly but they ended up having to take the gland anyway...20/20 hindsight I would get those glands cut out sooner rather than endure the mess and pain of having to “fix” it....which isn’t a guarantee it won’t happen again. And sex?! I was in miserable pain so I can’t even imagine.

I mean once the catheter is out and you've healed up. I know a hole will be left for a time, just wondering what comes out of it when you're "healed". I also meant sex after removal of the catheter. Wasn't sure how the hole effected it. Sex with it in place isn't an option. Lol (my husband is going crazy)

I noticed you said you had your gland removed. How was the recovery and after life of that? My Dr wants to remove mine and I'm strongly considering it, but I'm nervous about it.
