I have HH and hAve venesection every 3 months but I go in the morning and take the day off work because I feel so tired after and I go straight to bed,my question is work are questioning it,I never said I had it in my interview for fear of nor getting job (I work in a school kitchen)can they sack me ?I try to make the appointment later but not always possible.thankyou

Assuming that you have tried all the 'cures' - e.g. lots of fluids, small meal beforehand, etc, to me this seems to be your only solution. Insist on your vx appointments to be late in the day, and explain that your job is under threat otherwise. Does your Hb drop too low after vx? Ask for it to be tested, and ask haematologist for some solutions to that problem.

Hi, I'm also a school kitchen assistant and have found them very helpful I'm aloud paid absence for hospital visits , you should ask to speak to human resources they will advise you hope this helps x

Thanks Sue have spoken to someone higher at school and all OK, I am allowed the time and with pay.it was the cook that wasn't very happy but it's sorted now thank you for your help.
