Work performance anxiety

experience acute anxiety around work. I always worry about my ability to carry out my job, I wake early every morning anxious about the day ahead. Sunday is when the dread kicks in. I don't even like my job but yet it takes up most of my thoughts.

Anyone else experience this?

what you are going through is very common. I experienced that more times that I can count and I dreaded Sunday also.

I had to find a way to be OK with everything because it was ruining my life and my joy. What’s the point if there’s no joy in life? I will say though that I did get some counseling which did help. But what I had to do was do my best at work and then I had to turn it off in my head when I left. All we can do is give it our best and if we do that then we’ve done our job. No matter what happens,. The likelihood of losing the job is not very high. I think that we tend to even expect more of ourselves than the company does sometimes. We put too much pressure on ourselves even when we do our best. Let it go! Even if a job is lost, which is the worst case scenario, something else will take its place. Everything works out one way or another. I actually ended up leaving my job because the stress was too high it just isn’t worth it. nothing is worth losing our health over.

but even before I left I did start enjoying my Sundays and other days off because I started to live in the present moment and enjoy it knowing that I gave my all at work. I thought of all the days I wasted with worry and life is too short for that. Let it go! You’re going to be OK!

Thank you for your reply. It does help knowing I'm not the only one to experience this. I know I need to change my thoughts around work and not be so preoccupied with what people think of my abilities.

You're right, all we can do is our best.
