Worms in the Face

Hi All,  I dont know if anyone has come across this.  I have a worm infestation in my face.  They travel around under the skin leaving tracks and bursting holes into my skin.  they create glass like balls that split the skin open and move around my skin with ease. 

I first reported it 3 months ago and the doctors totally ignored me treating me for a secondary infection that was caused by open wounds in my face.  They have given me 4 courses of antibiotics treating the wrong infect but totally ignored waht I was telling ithem about the worms. 

The worms whatever they are are very sharp and whereever they travel through in my face the skin collapses, leaving it like plastercine and it causes tiny splinters that are as sharp as anything that inbed themselves in the inside and outside of my skin right down to the lowest skin level. My skin is also producing a clear sticky substance which feels like little shards of glass if I touch it.  All in all, it really couldnt be much worse except for the fact they have made a hole around my mouth which they can look out of.  I am totally sane!

I am in pieces.  I've been telling the doctors what it is and they have totally ignored me.  Even refusing to refer after an A & E i visited confirmed I needed to be referred as the lesions had been on my face for so long.   

I discovered I had private medical care through my company which now thank god means I've seen my first dermatologist.  He's referred me to another dermatlogist that apparently knows more about things in the skin who I'm yet to see.  Even though he's now put me in the right direction, I'm not convinced he was sure it is worms.  I can pull 1/2 inch worms out of my skin bit by bit.  They look like thread worms and never come out intact, you pull little bits off of them.  It leaves worm shape dents in my face and they feel like little match sticks under the skin.  Nobody is taking me seriously as people dont really get worms in the face. 

They have totally destroyed me skin and I have bad scaring.  I have never had acne and had no scaring.   This has all been caused in the last 3 months.  I dread to think how many are alive in there now they'v been left so long.

Has anyone ever heard of anything like this?

    My daughter has the same exact problem and has been to a skin dermatologist. They are trying to say it’s purigo nodularis and picking disorder” I have seen this myself and it is worms and she has described it as splinter feeling or shards of glass feeling. Pay attention to your calendar because she has marked it down every month when it gets active and it last for a week or more. It’s impossible to leave it all me when she can feel them and I can see them moving and you are correct, you can’t pull it out all in one. It comes out in pieces. Her arm and her face including her scalp and now start on her abdominal area and legs. Totally scarred and she wants to hide from the world. This has really changed my happy bubbly daughter to a depressed mother and daughter and she would rather just sleep her days away. Doctors treat people like they are stupid or just making things up. Idk what it will take to get this figured out but dear lord I wish someone had the answers. We have tried everything and of course the doctor has prescribed stuff for anxiety,depression Stupid drugs they push for a person with a problem that they can’t find the answer to. She doesn’t need that crap” She needs a cure for herself and for her family that are seeing her suffering and we feel so helpless. I’m just praying and praying for relief soon because it is hard for a mother to not have the answers to make their child better. I hate seeing her and my grandchildren go through the painful sadness of not having a normal life. We have recordings of all of this and this is not just a picking disorder! It’s obviously not contagious because she has been going through this for awhile now. My fear is secondary infection such as staphylococcus . It does seem to happen around the same time each month. Why doesn’t any doctor in the United States know or Understand what this could be?  We all need the truth and we need a cure! Please if anyone has a clue what this is or how to cure this Please help.

      I am a nurse and this is new to me but I think the excretion from my face that turns a glass like. Before I touch it I take warm wash cloth and soak them on my face and it desolves.

    I'm replying to Joanne. Stop with baking soda please. This is not a "cure" for anything except slight dyspepsia.

    I have the very same problem I am in pain and my dr asked me if I was on drugs but was able to still have her do a stool sample which came out negative. My skin is completely distorted As is my self astern I find this completely discustimg and  am very imbarresed not onley that it is very painfully and find myself crying over it on many occasions my face is full of very sharp painful bumps that don't go away and I will find holes like one very large one behind my ear which I soaked in epsom salt and has since went away I don't know what to do I have been reading and want to try all the remedys unfortinally I can onley afford baking soda. I am appalled at how the dr s are treating us don't they work for us!  And this needs to be put out on the news or in the publics eye because it is obviously wide spread and has to some new spieces or something I believe they feed on our blood I am begging for someone to talk with about this because I am going crazy not littaleretly but damn near PLEASE HELP

      What has your dermatologist said? Why are they asking about drug use? Do you look or act like you may be using drugs? Some skin conditions mimic meth use.

      I feel for you because I’ve seen my daughter go through everything you just described. She has been dealing with it for awhile now. She had some issues 4-5 years ago and then moved from that home in with her sister and went almost a year without any problems. She moved into a apartment and that very next morning she woke with a huge filled spot on her nose and then the back of her ear and she was feeling the crawling and glass shard feeling. She seems to go through this around the same week of each month. She cries,she refuses to go out and gets really depressed and doesn’t want to live on If this is what her life will be like for her and her children growing up with mom in the bathroom for hours because she can’t stop trying to get whatever it is out. I hate that I can’t fix this and I don’t have answers and you are correct about doctors” they treat you as a drug user and don’t seem to know anything about what people are going through. I am now looking around and notice more people around in stores or just out walking “ A lot of people are having the same problem and it looks the same as what my daughter is going through. We talk about when,why and how. I’m honestly thinking it has to do with the spraying and pesticides. They had sprayed her apartment just a day before she had moved in. The kids are all ok and through all of this” Nobody is going through it except her. She has had biopsy of several spots and I sometimes wonder if the doctor actually sends them out Considering they want to call this purigo nodularies and picking disorder Right from the first visit. As we return for Follow up appointment,The skin doctor says It’s Exactly What I Suspected.. I am definitely going to ask for the paperwork that shows the so called test from the so called lab it was all supposed to be sent to.. I no my daughter is not on drugs. They live with me now and have been for a few months. Her breakout seems to be a little lighter then it was in the apartment but it still happens and it’s always the 3rd week of each month.. So please hang in there and trust me, you and several others are going through this and demanding answers. Some how some way” We The people will get the answers and communication is the key” We have to work as a team. Doctors honestly don’t know much more about this and remember they are controlled by what they can and can’t do,say and or treat... Doctors can’t cure a disease if they wanted to because they are licensed to treat your symptoms not to cure” They would lose their license as a doctor if they cure people.. So all and all The best thing people can do is exactly what we are on here doing, communicate and take control of our situation with what we know and can learn from others. I feel like the answer to all this is probably simple and in the cabaret AS our grandparents would always say. I’m praying for everyone going through this and praying for my daughter and my grandchildren to get the results we need and stop having to live this difficult time without answers.       I wish it was drug use , as it would be an easy fix. Stop using the drugs!   Do doctors think people are that friggen stupid to use drugs and cause some crap like we are telling them, and then go to the doctor for help?  Hello!

      Look up impetigo and use calcimine lotion. My daughter swore it was worms moving through her. I seen trail marks and I honestly thought it looked like a worm also. She would dig these things out. She has a few years of scars and we finally found the pictures of impetigo and we have even looked briefly at this before. But getting deeper into learning about it and the shards of glass pokey worm things” they are a part of impetigo. We been to doctors,skin scraping,skin biopsy and blood work. Had doctors tell us purigo nodularies,folicalities and contact dermatitis and then she was told picking disorders and she needed consoling because her anxiety. She was feeling like a worm crawling inside her skin. Impetigo causes this. I wish I could give credit to a doctor for her diagnosis but it was our hard years,weeks and tears and on our knees praying to god that finally brought us to the answer to this. Please look at the pictures and compare what they say are microscopic “ My daughter seen this stuff with the naked eye. I swore myself it was a parasite But Now I definitely know it is much better and we can finally work on recovering from the thought of all this. I’m praying for everyone and I wish this could be the answer to all on here. I hope this helps some of you. I truly understand your hurt your fear and your pain. I thought I would lose my daughter before we could get answers. God is good. My daughter is again smiling and she looked lovely sleeping last night. The condition would keep her up all night picking. She cried and would bleed out and begging for this to stop she couldn’t stand the thought of a worm being in her body. Thank god it is impetigo. Please no she has had several things in a cup of alcohol and I even thought it was a worm and the doctors made me mad because I don’t have anxiety and they telling me I’m seeing things too” Please keep looking into impetigo and look at the pictures. We have been through so much the past few years with this and I no it takes a toll on everyone going through this and loved ones trying to help. Please keep faith and just don’t give up.  Impetigo actually spreads when picked and it causes the crawling itchy feel. She picked a lot trying to get it out. Picking several shards of glass feeling things out that Did resemble worm. So please don’t try picking that out” use calcimine lotion and it helps. Use tea tree oil pharmaceutical strength mixed as per directions. We finally got relief and I pray this helps you. Good luck. I will still be reading and checking in on all those on here. Praying for all.

      Thank you but these are real and all look the same they are some type of dermodex I have several in a jar. They thought it was impatego but I think that it is the rash I got when they first infected me also holes in my face.

    I am experiencing the same symptoms - for going on 2 years ( well I also had symptoms 8 years ago that lasted about a year - I used bleach baths 8 yrs ago to treat and it worked back then but now it’s back with a vengeance) - I have literally been tested for every parasite and had skin scrapings - all negative 

    This 2 year journey led us to discover a HUGE mold infestation in our old house - I thought once we left the house (we fixed and sold it) symptoms would get better but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

    I believed I had mites and had generous dermatologists day they saw nothing but were still willing to prescribe permethrin and Ivermectin - I have refilled both and used both religiously without lasting results. 

    I thought it must be worms - so I purchased medicine from a pet store with the ingredient fenbendazole (for 40lb dog) - 1 packet which was a single dose for a dog I made into 20 doses. I scooped a tiny amount and put into a spoonful of peanut butter. I did this for 2 weeks. When that didn’t work I took an entire packet in peanut butter and woke up the next day more clear minded than I have been in 30 years! 

    But - skin symptoms still persisted 

    Through research I came across information about Aspergillus fungus on the skin -this fungus  causes morgellans type symptoms and some believe it is the simple answer to the very complicated mystery behind morgellans. I have yet to come across any doctor who knows much about this fungus but have at least started treating my skin for fungus using listerine (best acne treatment I’ve used to date), bleach baths, otc antifungal creams - and am taking 2 different antifungal medicines prescribed by my Lyme doctor. I have only been treating for fungus topically for  2 weeks (taking prescription antifungal for 2 months) and I have already eliminated 99% of the crawling sensations and my skin is back to a place where I feel comfortable in public...it takes time to clear the skin and neosporin ointment has helped tremendously as far as speeding things up.

    I stopped using our washer and dryer at home and started using the laundry mat which has made my clothes wearable again.  I have heard many say front loading washers harbor mold / fungus and the dryer just spreads it.

    I hope this helps point you in the right direction an I pray that you are able to get some relief!

      Woo hoo Rhonda! You did the right thing! I am surprised Aspergillus was not well known by your dermatologist. It is a common yeast-type mold in the environment and can be life threatening if you are immunocompromized.

      I THINK a lot of the patients describing these symptoms on this forum/blog, have not done their research simply because they may not know HOW to as well as you. But SHAME on doctors for not taking them seriously.

      Even if the symptoms were all psychological--the person would STILL need to see a therapist!

      Be careful self-medicating. I know you were desperate, but you can easily destroy your liver enzyme system.

      Rhonda once I focoused on what was really going on I saw all different sizes of the same bug mite I don’t know what it is. It is white long Antenna long body and when they are crab like legs   Plus tendrils a lobster like tail.  They are in my nose in layers of skin. Everywhere I am sick and scared off this

      I have thousands of pictures of this thing in all different forms. I see them under my skin in eyes nose etc.  there is a guy on YouTube who has pictures and videos of stuff just like mine but he is referring to ‘this’ as morgellans and he originally turned me onto the idea of fungus - at the time I was sure it wasn’t but began researching anyway. All I know is that this goes away with highly acidic products like apple cider vinegar and with very alkaline products like borax and baking soda. My daughter and I got relief from pouring witch hazel into our hair after bath or shower and by wiping down our skin with a rag soaked in witch hazel.  This level of relief also took a lot of the fear away as well - I am realizing the fear was doing tons of damage to my immune system which made this worse.

      I pray this helps you in some way.

      Hi Rhonda 9147,

      May I see the photos of this?  I have seen some like the ones u mentioned and I thought it was a silverfish or something. My lesions spray clear fluid at high velocity when I tried removing that stubborn scab thing that was preventing the lesion from healing. Even when i extracted a considerable amount of it off my skin , which result in bleeding, the bleeding qiuckly appears to be sucked back into that hole and the clear fluid seals back the hole I made from pulling the scab off. And the infected area moves deeper under my skin making healing impossible.

      And after over 1 year of this physically n psychologically scarring disease, I am pretty certain that my exposure to  mold of sorts ( black or others) caused me to have this ongoing problem. My immune system is so weak now. It doesnt help that I have been battling hyperthyroid since 2015. Hope our collective efforts and research will find some lasting solutions n cures for this.
