Worms in the Face

Hi All,  I dont know if anyone has come across this.  I have a worm infestation in my face.  They travel around under the skin leaving tracks and bursting holes into my skin.  they create glass like balls that split the skin open and move around my skin with ease.

I first reported it 3 months ago and the doctors totally ignored me treating me for a secondary infection that was caused by open wounds in my face.  They have given me 4 courses of antibiotics treating the wrong infect but totally ignored waht I was telling ithem about the worms.

The worms whatever they are are very sharp and whereever they travel through in my face the skin collapses, leaving it like plastercine and it causes tiny splinters that are as sharp as anything that inbed themselves in the inside and outside of my skin right down to the lowest skin level. My skin is also producing a clear sticky substance which feels like little shards of glass if I touch it.  All in all, it really couldnt be much worse except for the fact they have made a hole around my mouth which they can look out of.  I am totally sane!

I am in pieces.  I've been telling the doctors what it is and they have totally ignored me.  Even refusing to refer after an A & E i visited confirmed I needed to be referred as the lesions had been on my face for so long.

I discovered I had private medical care through my company which now thank god means I've seen my first dermatologist.  He's referred me to another dermatlogist that apparently knows more about things in the skin who I'm yet to see.  Even though he's now put me in the right direction, I'm not convinced he was sure it is worms.  I can pull 1/2 inch worms out of my skin bit by bit.  They look like thread worms and never come out intact, you pull little bits off of them.  It leaves worm shape dents in my face and they feel like little match sticks under the skin.  Nobody is taking me seriously as people dont really get worms in the face.

They have totally destroyed me skin and I have bad scaring.  I have never had acne and had no scaring.   This has all been caused in the last 3 months.  I dread to think how many are alive in there now they'v been left so long.

Has anyone ever heard of anything like this?

Yes I am very! Familiar w this i have the same thing but on one leg and one arm. I am so happy to know i am not crazy. Do you have a cat? And do you by chance do your laundry outside i feel i have narrowed it down to the way they get on us. I am not sure. They will rejuvenate themselves its a nightmare and i hate this no one knows if you try to mess with them they get worse but if you dont they seal themselves under your skin and then they are there i need a treatment and to find out where they come from i am desperate

Interesting you mention cats. Current Morgellons/Lyme studies indicate a high percentage of "Cat Scratch Fever" sufferers have the same bartonella henselae bacteria found im Lyme.

We are just "scratching" the surface of parasite diseases and Lyme related diseases becoming more clearly a factor

I have all the same symptoms and have been dealing with this for 5 years. Today I finally got some answers.  About 2 years ago  on a hunch I started using over the counter anti-fungal creams. They gave me IMMEDIATE relief from the glad pain and soothed the sores and stooped the itching. I have been using them since. I went to doctor today and asked him to use a woods lamp and. look at me.  It is just a uv lamp. It glows if there is fungus growing. I lit up from head to toe!! In my ears, my eyes, face, entire body and scalp!!  It looked like someone had put tiny glowing dots all over my body!! My doctor has now orders fungal tests. I’m sure it was any just in my skin. But please please research fungal infections and immediately go get some athletes foot of ringworm or yeast infection creams. They will relieve your symptoms until u can get to dr and be tested to if and what kind of fungal infection you have. It even explains the sticky clear liquid!  There are oral meds but you have to have blood work first. But believe me, when you put the cream on one of the places that feel like there is glass in it and feel that relief you will cry. I can’t wait to get blood work back. My dermatologist diagnosed me with Ekbom syndrome and even sent me to a psychiatrist!! I can’t wait to see her again!! Good luck!

That's great - let us know how that goes please  - I've periodically used 2% Clotrimotzal (avail otc) and for me helps heal except parasite infected areas - frequently documented by sufferers that parasite infections coexist with fungus infections.

You Can get clotrimazole at the dollar tree. I’ve literally gotten tubes and tubes of it because it helps but doesn’t cure it.

I did the same thing as I’ve had this for approximately five years and fungal tests came up negative. I wrote in on my lab order sheets  every parasite available in California and they all were negative. My conclusion through process of elimination is proliferative sparganosis for myself. Praziquantel, anti-fungals and pure gum spirits of turpentine are the only things that help. There is no test for this here- only on the east coast, China, Thailand, Japan, etc.

Clotrimazole 2% is available as 3 Day vagina antifungal cream at Rite Aid, CVS and Walgreens (under their respective house-brand names). The usual strength is 1%. Definitely more effective in double-strength.

I also have used ketoconazole which was the best for my skin- shampoo script or otc (nizoral), pills and script cream. Doctors don’t like to prescribe it because it’s hard on your liver but somehow it slowed the progression..

Go to YouTube and look up the name Dawn Watton. Or look up Morgellons or amoeba. Morgellons or amoeba is what you would put in the search bar on YouTube. Look at my videos

I also wanted today I don’t know what the correlation is between parasites and fungus but I used the ivermectin and it got rid of some symptoms, the parasitic part, but I matter how much ivermectin I used I couldn’t get rid of the sores and the itching and the feeling of something crawling  I and bone. And I still had the gray lines and pockets under my skin and the painful painful glass feeling and the clear sticky fluid. The fungal medicationis healing those.  I don’t know how or where I got these things but it is so good after dealing day in and day out with this everyday for five years and honestly becoming downright suicidal slot if the times maybe my doctor and I are onto something. I went to deem in the beginning and she screamed at me for picking. Diagnosed me with ekbom syndrome and labeled me nuts. I couldn’t get any doctor to take me seriousky until today when I insisted my doctor look at me with a woods lamp. You should have seen it. Especially in and around my mouth!!

Julie, I have had the same exact symptoms, signs and experiences with the “medical professionals” as you have had. Have you got any pictures?  Lines, the pockets, the clear discharge and sores on my face but literally from head to toe it disseminated and the creepy crawly  feeling under my skin… Exactly the same thing!

I also believe it is very irresponsible to diagnose a serious psychiatric condition based on reading a post from a patient on the internet I was very very upset when I was incorrectly diagnosed with it and seriously considered harming myself. Everyone, please don’t jump right on a psychiatric cause!! And the fact it is very rare,   NOT “COMMON” like it was described. Let’s be responsible when posting.  Thanks.

I feel for you Julie - it is no doubt a demeaning and deflating experience to go through. Glad you hung in there! Doctors lean on their education, continuing ed in seminars and published studies in addition to their experience - access to delusional parasitosis articles published are readily found.  Articles on USA parasite infections and treatment rare - except for Vets. I don't know of a parasitologist in the USA. Was one in DC area with his own lab but he retired a few years ago. There are likely a docs who will help (if anyone knows one, please share).

Keep taking charge of your health and my best to you!

Has anyone gotten an MRI for this? I’ve been thinking about at least an X-ray because I have really large swellings. Please let me know, I am so appreciative of anyone’s replies. It’s terrible to be alone in this and you are brave and amazing people here.

I was going to say I had insane cramps and honey I'm good lines. When I do that they will do an MRI on her stomach and they will see you the infection. I mean that's if yours is in your gut as well cuz mine is
