Worms in the Face

Posted , 854 users are following.

Hi All,  I dont know if anyone has come across this.  I have a worm infestation in my face.  They travel around under the skin leaving tracks and bursting holes into my skin.  they create glass like balls that split the skin open and move around my skin with ease.

I first reported it 3 months ago and the doctors totally ignored me treating me for a secondary infection that was caused by open wounds in my face.  They have given me 4 courses of antibiotics treating the wrong infect but totally ignored waht I was telling ithem about the worms.

The worms whatever they are are very sharp and whereever they travel through in my face the skin collapses, leaving it like plastercine and it causes tiny splinters that are as sharp as anything that inbed themselves in the inside and outside of my skin right down to the lowest skin level. My skin is also producing a clear sticky substance which feels like little shards of glass if I touch it.  All in all, it really couldnt be much worse except for the fact they have made a hole around my mouth which they can look out of.  I am totally sane!

I am in pieces.  I've been telling the doctors what it is and they have totally ignored me.  Even refusing to refer after an A & E i visited confirmed I needed to be referred as the lesions had been on my face for so long.

I discovered I had private medical care through my company which now thank god means I've seen my first dermatologist.  He's referred me to another dermatlogist that apparently knows more about things in the skin who I'm yet to see.  Even though he's now put me in the right direction, I'm not convinced he was sure it is worms.  I can pull 1/2 inch worms out of my skin bit by bit.  They look like thread worms and never come out intact, you pull little bits off of them.  It leaves worm shape dents in my face and they feel like little match sticks under the skin.  Nobody is taking me seriously as people dont really get worms in the face.

They have totally destroyed me skin and I have bad scaring.  I have never had acne and had no scaring.   This has all been caused in the last 3 months.  I dread to think how many are alive in there now they'v been left so long.

Has anyone ever heard of anything like this?

I am so flipped out I don’t know what to do. I had one of those places that feel like glass in them on my lip. I was cleaning it off when I saw 2 things that looked like hairs poking out of it. I took the tweezers to pull them out and I pulled out this grotesque little creature a little bigger than the head of a pin. It had what looked like pinchers on front legs and it was writhing and moving very quickly snapping its head side to side and back and forth!!!  I thought u was going to pass out. I have taken a lot of pictures and videos but I never use my camera so I didn’t know how to focus or anything so you can’t see it clearly. But I tried. You can tell it is moving.  I’m trying to post the videos and pictures now. Please excuse how bad the video is. I was in shock and couldn’t keep my hand still. Now what do I do?  Has anyone else pulled out one of these? I am just sick.

Next time use video instead of taking pictures, u can then use vlc player to freeze the video & take snapshots that are in focus..

I got some video and I have been doing just that. You can clearly see it is a parasite of some type. And is moving.

I promise. I am not crazy or exaggerating. If someone can tell me how to post pictures I will show you.  As soon as I pulled it out the pain went away. I’m thinking that this must be the cause for the painful glass shard feeling sores that leave a hole and take forever to heal. I have three more on my face.

are u using a pc or your phone?

i think this site only allows pictures so use vlc player to pause the video and take snapshots of it

I found out that I have a severe fungal infection for one. Look at your skin under black light or ultraviolet light or a woods lamp. It will glow if you have a fungal infection. Dr. Put me on anticungal and that has certainly helped with slit of the symptoms. Like the white things and the clear sticky fluid and the light colored lines and patches of skin.

I would also be willing to send the pictures and videos to anyone who would like to see it. Just tell me where to send.  I’m going to take it up to the community college here and have someone in biology lab put it on a slide and look under microscope to see what it is. I will keep you posted.

PM me Julie - I am very interested in comparing what you are seeing to my experience. I think you are on to something regarding fungals. There is likely more involved though, as fungus and parasitic skin infections occur more often than not, but I've gotten notable improvement (to a degree) using 2% Clotrimazole cream avail otc. 2% works much more effectively than 1% and like treating any biological non-viral infection with antibiotics, it is best NOT to underdose (including amount and length of trearmtment) as that creates a platform for non-effectiveness and resistance. Following an astute physicians guidelines important - if you are using otc meds w/o a physician, please do lots of research, and obviously not just on forums...Using specialists in ID like Lyme and associations surrounding Lyme, Morgellons, etc., and published research studies from NIH (results published on PubMed-NCBI), NLM (National Library of Medicine), and Science Direct can be helpful (can also add confusion with conflicting results and conclusions, as is expected in research studies, so again, your physician is in best position to help you - sounds like you have one who is more proactive than average which is huge!)

      Look forwars to connecting

Julie, you are literally one step ahead of me. I can't get any doctors to even look at what I have under a microscope like I have and I've even taken a picture with my phone through my microscope lens and you can very clearly see some kind of larvae creature coming out of this weird egg sac thing that looks like a monster. The sac has a thin, tube sticking out of one end and a long, very thin tail with a single thorn at the end of it. It's funny... the assistants and nurses that talk to you first, can all be very sympathetic and truly hope that they can help you They are certain that this doctor can help you find answers. They say things like, "it must be so awful" or "you must feel so dirty!" Uhm...yes! Actually, it makes me feel gross and infected and that's why I want somebody to fix it! And then, the doctor comes in and looks over your chart VERY quickly and you can see this look on their faces. Some act annoyed, bothered or even angry and they just shut down... almost robot- like. Don't even make eye contact with you and they treat you like you have leprosy. Usually my visits last less than 10 minutes and they tell me everything is normal. I also find that the higher up the food chain of doctors and Specialists you get, the colder they treat you. It's very unnerving and I want to know what they know that I don't. Because this is happening to ME and it's not fair that nobody will tell me what it is or what it isn't. it really kind of makes you think about all the conspiracy theories and wonder how much truth there is to them . Are we marked in some way buy the "elite" and doctors are part of a private society that is privy to this information? So, when they see us-we're the infected ones, the ones that aren't supposed to get better. They just want us out of their offices as quickly as possible, it seems. Please let me know how it goes at the college because I was actually going to call our local University tomorrow and see if I could get anyone there to help me. I'm thinking it has to be a student. A smart student. But I have a very strong feeling that if I were to ask a professor, I would quickly be told, like I have buy some doctors, that It's nothing. That's my most frustrating things. It's obviously something. We're not both looking at a blank space. So either tell me you don't know what it is or tell me what it is. But don't tell me it's nothing. Sorry for the rant, I'm relatively new to this form and I just cannot believe how on point so many of your symptoms are with mine. And the experiences that you're having are so much like mine. I'm tired. I just want to look like myself, feel like myself and be able to function at work and home like I used to.

First, the nurses might be patronizing you - meaning the "delusional" assumption has already been pre-determined - best to come in without showing photos or saying I have parasites etc - tell/ask the nurse (your first stop always) that you have these skin erruptions - what is it? Let them look at it and then take it from there. "you're the experts...I'm leaning on you for a correct diagnosis and effective treatment" your default. You can still bring the photos, but hold them back and use later IF the circumstance is best for YOUR best interest to do so. Trust me, in 90% of situations, showing them at all will shut down the doctor and prompt a delusional diagnosis. Having anything of evidence (incl photos or samples) is text-book to diagnosing a delusional state - totally contrary to common sense, but that IS the way it is now and supported by situations published years ago.

So, play it smart - you are not there to change medical process - we will lose that battle at this stage 99% of the time.

So now the doctor comes in - your approach is exactly the same - great him/her like a business meeting. "Hello Dr. Smith, great to see/meet you..."

When/if he asks "How can I help you today?" you respond with same statement as with nurses. This promots the DOCTOR to take a look (first step of getting eventually some level of buy in).

IF after looking, the doctor quickly responds with "looks like a staph infection" and procedes to end examination, then say  "please tell me more..." (hard to deny some level of clarification - if he/she DOES deny clarification, say "I'm just trying to wrap my hands around this and understand - can you please clarify the cause of this and what is involved in treatment?"wink

When he/she gives explanation, you can prompt more by asking for greater detail ("again, so I can understand this, please explain that in greater detail"wink.

You can "restate" back "to make sure I understand, this is xyz, is that correct?"

THEN you ask "what is the white substance that is coming out?" (or this or that - giving a good description, but not using "parasite" or "worm" or "bug"wink

THEN ask if it is ok if he/she would take a skin scraping "I'd appreciate a skin scraping of a couple of areas...would you mind terribly doing that for me?" (you've just put him on the spot but very nicely and ball is in his/her court now)

If he gives reason why not, and regardless of reason, say "I understand and appreciate your reasons - I'm sure you would agree that if doing this helps me better understand, helps either confirm  or perhaps finds out more information that is important AND we have nothing to lose in doing so, that it makes logical sense - I would really appreciate this - it's your decision of course... (then shut up and wait - 75% chance he will do it).

*IF NO, AND ONLY IF YOU WANT TO STILL WORK WITH THIS DOCTOR, SAY "I have just one more question Dr. Smith...(pull out of your purse or pocket (don't have it laying on counter or in your hands) your most obvious and clear photo), and say/ask "because this has been so severe for me, I took a photo (or couple of photos) thinking this might be helpful for you..." (hand photo to him - get it in his hands), and ask "what is this?"

If the answer is quick "nothing but infection pus" or similar par answer, you say "there seems to be consistency in what this looks like - does pus normally have this shape and structure?!?"

If he/she hedges, ask again for scraping... NOW it is time to stand your ground, but ask firmly but politely "I'd like to get a scraping - I hope you understand and would be ok to do so...(look him straight in the eyes and wait)... IF no, ask "would you mind at least showing me a photo or diagram of examples of puss that looks like this?

It shouldn't get this far by the way - make a good judgement call back at * whether you believe he is type who will work with you or will dictate and shut down on being responsive - you might as well call that correctly and cut your losses as likekly nothing will change his/her mind if so. Find another doctor and you could add "I think it's fair to say I am disappointed in your level of response to my request Dr. Smith - But thank you anyway for your time. (might turn the tide at last minute but again, the earlier dialogues should help sacratically prompt positive action if the doc has reasonably good patiebt skills - and much of above is worse case! By getting a doctor to "engage" in discovery is everything. You will NOT do that with statements about any form of parasites or photos brought out early (try not to use photos AT ALL except as above detailed).

I know this sounds like a LOT to do for something that "should" be automatic... But doctors tend to lean on well documented and commonly accepted clinical studies and situations they have encountered 90% of the time - appealing to polite logic and questioning, and setting the stage for gaining his/her interest essential. If you give him/her a pre-diagnosis opinion that you believe this is likely parasitic, only asking for trouble.

Also, assuming all goes as planned (skin scraping or other form of further diagnostics), and if there is any chance of exposure Lyme ticks (Eastern USA VA to Maine, Upper midwest, Texas, CA or Fla) where you might have been in woods hiking, golfing or any area where deer or fox are located, abd you have several symptoms of Lyme (lists of such avail online esp Lyme Assoc), ask for advanced Lyme lab work to be done (not basic testing) - you can say "I read about Lyme after having this start abd other symptoms which include (list the most imp ones)... I understand that base testing has shown to be unreliable in detecting Lyme bacteria infection, abd labs offer more thorough and accurate testing.  I'd like to eliminate that from a possibility as co-infections similar to mine are being found to be linked (PM me for documents that might help you support that and more).

Ok, so I'm sharing with you and everyone else who reads this (hopefully the moderator will let this LONG reply postwink some sage advice - I know it shouldn't have to work this way, but play it smart and you will get better results... If not, you then are likeky to add one more "delusional" diagnosis to the anals of records - not something that helps you or anyone else.

My best to you and hope you have success as I have in fighting and winning the fight.

Mitee16319 i had to go thru all your steps to get my doctor to engage.

Going in on different occasions showing them the rash in different spots.

It wasn't until i put together a group on ten photos of the rash in different spots that they have finally started to listen.

I now have just had the biggest group of blood tests ive ever had & im on doxycylene for 28 days to see if that kills it off.

If at the 28 days im still having a rash they are going to do a biopsy.

Im so happy. I have finally got doctors to listen and they are paying attention.

It took nearly 2 years to get them to really listen, multiple rashes, multiple symptoms. Finally they said take photos and keep them updated.

The group of photos made the difference. Please see my last post. I attached 5 pix to it.

U will see why they are now listening.

That's great! Persistence and preparation ("practice" what you plan to say out loud as well) are keys to success.

Pergaps if you brought out the photos on first visit, they would have responded with "well then, we should get right on this..." But I stand by my advice 100% and my example was for the first visit.  Like any "negotiation", court case, or a card game like poker, holding your cards close to your vest until you need them, gives you leverage and confidence. Again, unloading "evidence" on first visit is asking for trouble - it's called the "matchbox syndrome" (patients who brings samples taken from skin in a matchbox). It's completely condencscending and wrong, but there are a hundred studies/articles/reports published on delusional parasatosis (supposedly a rare disorder which is ironic since so many articles and so many cases have been categorized as such over past 10 years)...

How many clinical articles published can one find documenting clinical protocols for parastic imfections of human skin in the USA?

At best, it's a 25 to 1 ratio of DOP to infection cases diagnosed - we need to use all possible skills to get the treatment needed...

Study up on late stage lyme treatments... Doxy is ok... I was prescribed for two 3 month periods - it's good for early infection stages.  by itself, it doea not penetrate cysted forms and in lyme only affects one of three stages of the infection.

Multiple antibiotic treatment at high dose for long periods are trending as being much more effective - one for each phase/state of the infection including cysted which most everyone has described ("shards of glass" being either dormant eggs/ova and/or cyst form surrounded by biofilm or other defense, awaiting a later safe time to erupt - well documented by lyme and or morgellons researchers).

If you have. doctor who might be willing to look into the research and open to treament that lyme doctors or using, then you are truly fortunate.  The fact the doctor acted at all in giving antibiotics a huge plus.

Bactrim is helpful in fighting parasitic skin infections and Morgellons - if you can take sulphur based antibiotics - Rafampin one of the most effective in cyst fighting - very hard to get Rx on that one from GP doctor - miracles do happen though
