My little finger is bent in half and my ring finger is following it but not as much.

The ligament in palm of hand is very taut and has become very raised .

The left hand palm centre has just started to thicken but after reading some comments here im not sure wether to have the operation or not.

Has anyone had it done at Fitzwilliam at peterborough

Any advise please

Hi I had it done 4 years ago, But now it has come back. Could you tell me how you got on if you dont mind. And are you having it done local or general. I will only have it done local. but finding it hard to find a hospital that will do it.

    PS Hope things went ok

Hi Brandon ,thanks for reply I went to see Mr Jones at Fitzwilliam this morning and felt a lot happier and signed my consent form already.

He said it was too severe to try the needle so Im having general Anisetic ,sorry spelt it wrong lol Was told the op will take about 2 hours +

and they will then put it in plaster. He can,t guarntee it wont come back but even if it does it may not need surgery again. After plaster comes off I will have to wear a hand split for 6 weeks only during the night.

I will be having op in 2-3 weeks . Hope this helps and I will let you know how I get on , :

Hope you feel better come the weekend Just think of all that time off from work, LOL Keep in touch

Hi brandon just wondering how you got on at doctors.

It has been nearly 4 weeks now since my op. Wound and skin graft have nearly healed now but palm of hand is still a bit tender.

Ring and little finger are still quite swollen and hard to bend. I attend physo twice a week and have hand and fingers bent and massaged but after 30mins of pushing and pulling they swell quite a lot so then have to rest them so they stiffen up again. Its catch 22 really I had the op to straighten and to have to force them bent again LOL. I think it will be a long job, good job i dont work and I have got a good husband who has taken over the household jobs. .

I didnt realize that they would be so hard to bend after just a short period but physo said that because the joints have not been correct for several years it does happen. Hope you have got on ok and you have got a date for op , keep me up to date Kriss

    Hi Kriss,

I hope your hand is starting to get a bit better, Sounds like you have got your hands full with it. Sorry about the pun. LOL.

Bet your husband carnt wait. Well I went to see my doctor who said it could be cosmetic now. But I did ask to see a HAND SURGEON this time. Just got to wait and see now. More I think about it now the less I want it done. Did say no G/A for it. Take care Brandon :D
