I AM VERY UPSET THAT WITH TODAYS SOCIETY THERE ARE STILL VERY MUCH STIGMATIC DISCRIMINATE AND IGNORANT PROFFESSIONALS OUT THERE.
I HAVE BEEN ON 2 TIMES 25M OF QUENTIAPINE, (1 AM AND 1 P.M.)SINCE JULY THIS YEAR AND OFF WORK FOLLOWING A SUSPECTED BREAKDOWN AND ADMITTANCE TO A PSYCHIATRIC HSP.
YET THIS WEEK I WAS TOLD I MUST ATTEND A MEETING WITH H.R. TO BE ABLE TO RETURN TO WORK.
DURING THIS MEETING I MENTIONED THIS MEDICATION AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS MEDICATION IS MAINLY FOR SZCITSOFREENIA (CANT SPELL IT SORRY), I WAS THEN TOLD I CAN NOT CONTINUE TO DO VOLUNTARY WORK, (WHICH I BEEN DOING OVER THE LAST THREE WEEKS WHILE STILL ON THE SICK UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF MY TEAM LEADER). THIS WAS A RETURN TO WORK PLAN. I WAS HOPING TO SIGN OFF THE SICK THIS TUESDAY.
H.R. ALSO INFORMED ME THAT SHE NOW HAVE TO WRITE TO THE PSYCHIATRIST AT THE HOSPITAL AND MY G.P. WHO I HAVE ONLY SEEN THREE TIMES(TO CHECK MY MEDICAL RECORDS) AND ALL BECAUSE I HAVE MENTIONED THIS DRUG I TAKE.
I HAVE ASSURED HER THAT I DO NOT HAVE BIPOLA OR SZCI' AND FEEL I AM TOTALLY ON TRIAL FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO COPE WELL WITH ILLNESSES WITHIN MY FAMILY MEMBERS FINANCIAL STRAIN AND ANYTHING ELSE LIFE CAN THROW AT NORMAL ORDINARY PEOPLE WHO NEEDS A LITTLE HELP NOW AND THEN. I FEEL MY PRIVACY IS BEING INVADED AND THINK THIS IS A '1 STEP FORWARD AND 2 STEPS BACK'
SITUATION. I AM HONESTLY THINKING OF GIVING UP THE JOB I LOVE JUST TO STOP H. R.'S INVATION INTO MY PRIVATE LIFE. AND THEN GIVE UP THESE TABLETS JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE A STIGMATIC LABEL. :?:

If I were you , I would either go to a local mental health charity/call one like Mind or Sane (you can find them online/or go to the Citizen's Advice Bureau. There is information out there for people wanting to work/going back to work/having probs at work due to mental illness past or present.
I have been on Seroquel for 11 months, 3 of which i was off work.
Also, any illness you mention at work should remain confidential. I think your HR person is treading on very thin ice. DO NOT GIVE UP YOUR MEDS WITHOUT CONSULTING YOUR GP.
You have rights. Find a professional as mentioned above AND your GP or consultant and say what has happened with this HR person. She has no right to interfere like that without your permission.
So sorry to hear this.
Take care.
