Worried

After taking Livial for five months GP sent me for some scans because of intermittent bleeding. On receiving the result of the scans he suggested I need to see a gynaecologist. So far I have had a smear test result with unexplained cells and today I am going in for a D&C. My gynaecologist said she would not have prescribed me with Livial and any bleeding at all her advice is to cease the medication immediately. I am a little worried.

I have just started my third month. I have had two full on periods & intermittent bleeding. I told my doctor this & he didn't seem worried at all. He seems to think it'll eventually settle down as it's early days. I must admit it is the best HRT I've tried so far so I'm reluctant to come off it just because I'm bleeding occasionally.
However your situation must be very worrying, hopefully they're just being cautious doing these tests. Please let us know your results & thoughts on it all, when you can.
Take care now, fingers crossed for clear results ♡

What great news. I'm so pleased it looks as though they've found the culprit. I wondered if you may have a polyp, a fibroid or similar. I'd had slight bleeding at the start of this year following an operation to repair two prolapses. I too had investigations to see what was causing the spotting and they did a D&C too and checked examined the cells. They found the start of a fibroid. I'd had no idea. Thankfully everything else was all ok. My gynaecologist never once mentioned stopping my Livial so when I asked her - because of my age, should I come off Livial she said "If it suits you and it obviously is, I see no reason why you should". You mentioned having side effects to Livial such as aches and pains etc. I had never had any side effects of any kind from day one - and that was 20 yrs ago, so maybe they weren't suitable for you after all. I hope the overthecounter remedy helps you, so I really wish you well with that. What was it you bought by the way, I'd be interested to find out about it. In the meantime, I trust you'll feel much better from now on. Best wishes, LadyPink

Good luck and thanks for letting me know which remedy you are trying. Always useful to know what the results are from these different pills and potions. All the best. LadyPink

ended up being diagnosed with a tumour in my uterus. Had a full abdominal hysterectomy 3 weeks ago. The good news is that they got all the nasty stuff out and I don't need any further treatment. The recovery is taking ages and I still am very sore. Hot flushes are dreadful too but not sure what they will do next for them. I have an appointment on 24th so will know more then. Apparently the Livial was feeding the tumour so it's a good job my GP sent me to a gynaecologist for further investigation when I told him I was experiencing spotting!! A polyp was found when they did a D & C then it was diagnosed as cancerous! I am very lucky.
